Been with ATT for yrs... never had any problems dropping calls but since May 2011 which is also when I purchased a new iPh 4... I consistently drop calls, the signal bars bounce around constantly, 3G switches to Edge, the Searching notice shows up or it just goes dead... no service, can't send rapid text messages- that will give me a failure notice so I have to wait until the first text has go through before hitting send for the next, a call will come in but ph doesn't ring but a voice mail notice will appear, voice mail service is not obtainable all the time and when ph is set on my wireless it's really no better. I basically have to sit on my window sill and dangle myself outside to keep from dropping a call. Even if I manage to maintain the call for any length of time - the quality is shoddy... going in and out and playing that can you hear me now game. My iPh is my main ph - I use it for business 90% of the time- this is just ridiculous trying to get any calls in with my clients. Its just horrible horrible service... ATT's network can not handle the amount of user's they have. Shame on them- not a chance in the world the over promised and under sold their networks capabilities to had the influx. Shame on Apple to continue agreements with a company that can not provide at least adequate service for their product. I really think the release of the iPh 4 earlier this yr just did their shoddy system in - too many new users got a new iPh 4 and just is sucking the life out of the network. I like my ph and I have limited choices for service providers... Verizon is not much better plus I'd lose my unlimited voice / text / data plan. Maybe I should just get a land-line and call it a day.

DC and cellular reception in and out, DC hangs up all over the area of Elmwood Park. Nextel sez there are no towers in te area, but you might hit the ones in Chicago if you are close.

This list of carriers is from the worst to the most decent: Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, and T-Mobile. I have changed plans multiple times and always returned to T-Mobile but this time I have noticed that their service has gotten worse. I have was sent a new SIM card but nothing changed. Then I was sent a new phone but there is still no change. So it is either the phone or the company's reception is deteorating. Currently I cannot be in any lower level / basement because I will get 0 bars for web, text, or voice. It instantaneously becomes an expensive paper weight.

I live in a condominium and talk right by my balcony door. My reception bars fluctuate from 1 to 3 maximum. This is a new phone I bought last July 2006.
