AT&T has NO SIGNAL, 2000 new students, their parents and friends can't get cellphone signals from AT&T. They will switch to other carrier if signal is NOT improved around the Northwestern University.
I use my iPhone as my home phone and in the past it was good to perfect. Phone reception has been steadily declining and in the past week I often have no reception in my apartment except in the kitchen where there is only one bar. It never used to be like this. I am thinking of ditching this phone because it's so unreliable. No point having an iPhone if the stinking thing doesn't work.
My friends hate me. I moved to NU a couple months ago, and I keep trying to call them, wandering around outside the building hoping for a fractional bar, bumping into other iPhone users. I sometimes get enough reception if I stand near the library facing East, but not West - but then I nod or a car drives by or a plane flies overhead and my call gets dropped and I have to call my irritated friends back. Again. And that's OUTside! I think I get negative reception inside, like I'm somehow subsidizing my colleagues' Sprint and Verizon reception. I've been making feeble attempts to call people on my drive home (using the iPhone earbuds / mic). Heading West, I've gotten dropped at Golf / McCormick and three other spots before Waukegan Rd. If I ever hope to talk to anyone, I'm going to have to drive home through more Northern suburbs, and isn't that stupid? Yep, I've got an iPhone in Chicago - I'm all dressed up and nowhere to go!
There is little to no reception here. Calls coming in go directly to voice mail and calls going out fail. Texting output is delayed for up to five min. AT&T cannot or will not do anything about it. Does anyone know a better coverage by any other carrier. for this area?
