I don't understand the bad reviews... I get nearly perfect reception wherever I go on in Gurnee and I use my phone as my gps while I drive. I never drop to 1G even...

If I didn't try using my phone away from home, I would have to think it doesn't have the capacity to ever exceed 1 bar. The fact is, I get better reception anywhere but home. I have set up my service to transfer incoming calls to my landline, which makes me wonder what the point is in even having people call me on the cell. How did AT&T ever grow so large when they provide such lousy service? I must not be the only stupid consumer, I guess.

Varies from poor to no connections at all at my home. With what these guys charge us, you would think they could invest in a tower that could reach us.

Calls are dropped when riding the inbound Metra NW line train around the Edison Park area. Outbound is not a problem.

I just moved to Gurnee from Chicago. My Cingular phone only worked outside in Chicago and I was hoping it would be better after merging with At&T. Now I am in Gurnee and it SUCKS! Everyone I call can barely hear me. It is really static-y and even though I have all my bars, no one can understand what I am saying. My phone drops in and out. Maybe I am too close to a tower or something, but luckily my contract it up soon. From the reviews here it looks like Sprint or Nextel work best in this area. My husband works at Abbott and almost everyone there has Nextel so that is probably what I will get.

Calls drop off all the time. there is no reception in malls or buildings. the reception is sooo bad that you can't even call a person right across the room! I plan on switching to Sprint! everyone I know says good things about it!

Excellent reception.....I've had AT&T for 4 years now, & I have no complaints. T-Mobile has the worst customer service known to man. AT&T would jump on a grenade to save a customer. Highly Recommended!!!
