T-Mobile in Lake Forest is terrible but it's the only true GSM carrier. I literally get no service and if I do it's for a short period of time when I'm outside or at a high altitude. They need to fix this ASAP if they want more customers.

On almost the entire campus, I get nothing but dropped calls, horrible reception, and "no service" notifications half the time.

Had service for almost 2 years now. The 3650 has possibly the best reception of any phone. Wasn't thrilled with the quality of service at first, but since GSM was relatively new I was willing to wait for the network to mature and improve. Now it is completely ghastly, especially at night when off peak calling occurs. This area of Lake county is so swamped with traffic that at times it is impossible to make or recieve calls. Power cycling helps for a little while. Worked like a charm in Thailand and Malaysia (I had it unlocked), and whenever I'm in a major city or on a interstate, the service is spot on. Alas, moving to a CDMA network seems to be the best move for me since I am unwilling to cope with GSM crowding. Unfortunately, all the cool phones now are GSM. That figures!

T-Mobile is very unreliable and is awful! I live 100 yards from a building with a T-Mobile tower on top of it, and still I don't get reception. About 95% of my friends have the service. We all hate it, and some people I know are counting down the days until their service ends! Most of the time, I have to look for someone with a different service to make a call. Even if my phone has full service, the call is not clear or it drops immediately. I have been in Chicago, Vernon Hills, Highland Park, Northbrook, Evanston, Glenview, Wisconsin, Florida, and California with my phone, and I have the same results. Crappy service! I have had multiple phones, so it is T-Mobile that is troublesome. Really, the only place T-Mobile works is in a major city, but a few times I started to here other conversations through the phone. Listening in on people is amusing, but otherwise T-Mobile has a lot of work to do. I do not recommend T-Mobile anywhere in Illinois.

I had a Motorola v60 and had several dropped calls and could rarely even make a call. I then switched to the Nokia and have found complete success. Never drops calls and always comes through in my house. Of course, the Nokia has no bells and whistles, but I would much rather have a phone that actually works!
