North of Book and 75th Poor receiption and dropped calls indoors called today and they said a cell tower was reported down 8 / 4 and affecting this part of Naperville but I was having problems even before then

Just South of Plank Rd.is the Springhill Subdivision which, as the name implies, is adjacent to and on the slopes of Spring Hill. Cell phone coverage is challenging because of this valley effect and Tower placement is everything when it comes to whether or not you will get reception. AT&T is a three bar maximum on a clear day for any location where you are more than ten feet below Plank rd. The average in the neighborhood is one bar, and calls are dropped frequently. Used to have a company phone on Verizon, which was only slightly better- 2 bars on average with less dropped calls. Someone, I think T Mobile has a tower in the neighborhood. That makes a world of difference. With geography like this, either you have a tower close, or you don't.

Finishing out my 2 year ATT contract in Nov. and will not continue with them. The in home reception was limited at best for the past 1 1 / 2 years but is horrible now. ATT has been of no help. They did say they were putting up tower on Modaff in Sept. 2012. I wont' be staying with the company that long to find out how it works! :(

My AT and T service has gotten progressively worse particularily the past 2 months. Dropped calls and inability to send / receive texts is more frequent than not. I've made at least 6 calls to the company and to date they cannot tell me what the problem is. I've been happy with my AT and T service for over 10 years but I will not keep them if this continues much longer.

For the last several months making and receiving calls has gotten progressively worse. Many times neither my wife or myself can make or receive calls. If the calls are received, they are dropped more often than not. We've contacted AT&T about the problem and were told that there are three cell towers within a 3-mile radius, one of them has been 'comprised' (their word) since Oct 2010, another went our of service several weeks ago (they've promised twice that it would be back online 'next Monday or Tuesday' (same story two weeks in a row). The 3rd tower is right on the edge of 3 miles. They don't seem to care that the towers are inopperable or under performing.

No service. AT&T is the worst. Afghanistan has better reception. The company refuses to fix the problem.

Cannot make / receive calls more than half of the time I want / need to. I work in a stripmall with an AT&T store no more than 300 yards away, yet drop calls at work constantly. My home is even worse. I cannot get calls, receive voicemails days later, and everytime I try to make calls, I get the "Emergency Calls Only" message. I am sick and tired of AT&T, and cannot wait to get away from them! Hopefully, in the near future the iPhone follows me away from AT&T!

I get one or two bars in my apartment at best. I have not experienced dropped calls but I have to charge my phone frequently because it's working hard looking for a signal. I have been cell-only for almost 10 years and have had this problem from the start - you'd think in 10 years things would have improved. I'm considering purchasing a booster but find that idea annoying because I'm already paying for service! *sigh

We are so sorry that we switched from Verizon where we had better coverage. We get little or no reception downtown (Chicago) and only 1 or 2 bars in Naperville. Most calls have trouble going through.

I lose calls constantly and most of my calls go into voice message without even ringing. I am near 75th and Washington and I cannot beleive how bad the reception has become. Before Cingular was bought by AT&T I had great service and reliable reception. I am thinking of leaving now that I have reviewed what others are also saying.

My backyard opens onto 75th, across the street from the Starbucks on 75th and Naperville / Plainfield road. My phone usually works great, but since moving to this house l lose calls and people complain my voice breaks all the time.

When it was Cingular I got great reception since ATT took over nothing but static. Voice mail would not work and my online account was inaccessable had to have voice mail account deleted and reinstalled. If I call on home phone I can hear voicemail but not if I call on my cell phone.

Siginal goes up and down and most of the time with lots of droped calls.

Spotty reception at best. Not sure if I expect too much. Is wanting it to work in my house too much? That was not sarcasm.

Reception is decent most times. I have never not received a call, but I will get a call with a lot of distortion and static on the line. And sometimes when I dial a number it sounds like I hear someone else talking. I do have better reception than my roomates Sprint phone.

Get very poor reception and frequently drop calls. Fewest dropped calls slogan is a joke.

Cingular is very poor in this area. TDMA service went from full service down to 1 / 0 bars this past year as they decommission TDMA and may beef up the GSM network. We'll see. Unusable for now, though had to switch carriers.

Cell phone is not useable inside my home. Often I cannot get the phone to lock on to a signal for many minutes.

Dropped calls at home. Sometimes phone does not ring.

Cingular Tech Service has been trying to improve my reception around my home without success since on bought the phone and switched to the Cingular Network on 7 / 7 / 05. Previously, I had great reception using the AT&T network and a 2 year old Nokia. Cingular tried to reprogram my phone to search for the AT&T towers but could not do it. Then, they told my to manually set my Netork to the 850 / 1900 band. No better. The best they can do is tell me to be patient as they migrate the AT&T network into the Cingular Network. If it is not better by this Saturday, my phones (2) are going back the Cingular.

I was with my brother in Naperville. Absolutely no problems with cingular. whats everyone talking about?

Cingular has major holes in their service coverage in Naperville, IL. My neighborhood has no coverage (slightly SW of Route 59 and 111th. Also, my calls are always dropped on I-88 near Mill St.

I'm extremely dissatisfied with Cingular GSM. I get no coverage in my house, located close to 2 towers, but mid way between them. Cingular says the signal is excellent. I cannot make calls in my house and in most of my yard. Elsewhere in Naperville, many dropped calls, static, reception holes. GSM does not have adequate coverage to be useful.
