Verizon works great in and all around City of Nauvoo. As you head South East, you get some "sketchy" coverage in the rural areas out in the "boonies". But works great on all major roads in the area. T-Mobile on the other hand is practically worthless. We attend the Nauvoo Pageant each summer (2005 - 2010) and we hear from hundreds of visitors. T-Mobile is the worst. Works OK From Temple West towards the River, but East of Temple in the main part of town is bad. Heading East towards the Middle School and over towards Niota is USELESS! ATT is about the same as T-Mobile East of Temple, but has a little better areas here and there. Those who use Sprint say it works much better than T-Mobile and ATT, but Verizon is the best of the National Carriers. US Cellular is the local carrier (Mid West) that the locals use and they claim is the best there.

I am a local, have been for nearly 40 years. My cousin is a Verizen autherized reatailer in the area but I am and always have been a U.S. Cellular customer. Verizon is probably the second best in the area but U.S. Cellular works everwhere around here. I have been inside a metal grain bin and can still make a phone call. I have had various types of phones including Nokia, Motorola, Keyocera, LG, and now HTC. Service is never an issue from Nauvoo to Carthage and everywhere in between. U.S. Cellular is now nationwide 3G.

T-Mobile is roaming here. Blame the roaming partner for poor coverage.

T-Mobile SUCKS in Nauvoo. Very little reception all over town. If you go down into the old "Historic" area, it works OK, but up where the people live in Town... forget it. We had to stand in our window at the Nauvoo Inn and Suites and put our hand on the metal air vent and sometimes could get 1 bar... but usually not. Very bad all the way East and North out of town towards Ft Madison IA.
