ok, so yes I live in palestine, and when I had my Nokia I had to stand on my back porch to get reception.. it was OK.. I did get some bars, but I would like to stay in my house and answer. as for my sony Ericsson z500a, I get pretty good signals.. but I get confused, I get grey bars, then it changed to orange, and back, then to red.. odd, and I have no clue.. their new GSM network is nice. but there are a few probs... I dont get notification of voice mail. they are supposed to get new towers, and I belive they have one up now in west york, and going to be in west union soon.. there is also supposed to be one in palestine as well.. cant wait.

Carriers are not at all responsive to local user complaints, which are MANY. Most all users are living in pre-network world of frequent dropped calls and no signal. Forget about the 3G networks. Hopefully the Obama adminst will spend money here to update to the twenteth century.

In Palestine, Verizon reception is poor to non-existant. Going south to Indiana it get worse as it does going north toward I70. The best reception is with my son't AT&T phone but they say they don't offer service in the area.

I was tricked by Cell-one to signing a three year contract with the understanding there was going to be a tower put up starting at the first of the year. It is now the middle of June, and I pay $130.00 a month for two phones that I don't even get reception to use them unless I leave town. They haven't even broke ground on this "Tower" yet. it really is frustrating knowing I am just throwing my money away to a company that makes nothing but empty promises, and cuts off the world from technology we should be entitled to. there was even a patition passed by alot of people, but I still get my voicemail three days late.

My parents live in Palestine, Il, when we go to visit, which isn't often we get NO SERVICE with our Sprint service. This is absolutely ridiculous in this day and age, with all the new technology available. Even when I switch to roam, NO SERVICE. I am extremely disappointed, I don't understand how a community like this can survive with such limited technology. My parents have Verizon, and they have to drive 3-4 blocks to even use their cell. Why would Verizon even offer service to an area with such shotty service. What's embarrassing is Jiiterbug has service in Palestine while Sprint, T-mobile, and Verizon don't. I feel for anyone that chooses to stay in this small rural town for many reasons. A big reason most of the people that live there don't even realize what they are missing with the new technology now available.
