Dumped Verizon - could not make or receive calls at home OR work (Buffalo Grove) and Rt 53 commute was spotty. But with CINGULAR GSM and a Motorola MPX220, I always connect from work, from most areas inside my home, and I never drop a call on my commute. In fact, I've never dropped a call period.

Verizon has been absolutely wonderful! In the 4 years I have has this service, I have had about 3 dropped calls - in 4 years! After much research, I have not found a better carrier. Reception is great and they have the widest selection of phones of any carrier I have researched. Never had any problems with this old phone; however, I will be upgrading the phone this week to LG VX6100. Time to come into the 21st century!

3G + 4G voice and data reception at home (we live on the 4th floor) are excellent here in Schaumburg, even though I'm a bit disappointed about the 4G speeds: On 4G, I usually don't reach more than 2.0-2.5 Mbps (down) / 1.5Mbps (up) - which is a far cry from what other folks are getting across the country (mostly on other networks). I really like Sprint, but I wish their 4G was a bit more speedy... like 4-5 Mbps (down). However, I don't need 4G at home since I use Comcast Hi-Speed Cable over WiFi, and 4G only on the way to work or at work. I work close to O'Hare, BTW. The 4G connection is definitely not good enough to download an album from Amazon while driving... - Oh, well. Even though I'm really happy with my trusty HTC EVO 4G, I'm planning on getting a Samsung Epic 4G Touch soon. Let's see of that one's any better as far as data reception / bandwidth go...

Used Verizon sWireless ince 2007. Before that used AT&T which was not as good but decent, and T-Mobile which just plain sucked.

Good reception with ATT. Can make calls indoors. I'm usually on the Sprint network, which is slightly above horrible in this area; but I've bought a Go Phone to test out the ATT network. The A117 phone I'm using is cheap, but still gets a better signal from the local towers than my mid-level Sprint phone.

I live in the basement of split level house and had ATT digital and rarely got reception. I switched to Sprint PCS and in over a year with them I've only had a handful of calls dropped anywhere, none at home. I

I've had this service for two years, and during that time, having travelled extensively throughout the Chicago and Illinois areas, I've rarely, if ever, dropped a call, or found a dead spot. Reception and clarity have been great overall including high rises, basements, and Union Station while sitting on my train waiting to leave (something I never got with my two previous providers). While they have a "somewhat" limited selection of phones, they do have great service plans for any need, and often run promotional plans (ex. I'm getting ready to sign on for their current 1500 minute/month plan with unlimited free incoming calls, unlimited free cell-to-cell (USCC-to-USCC), and unlimited nights/weekends, all for $45 - hard to beat!). Customer Service is excellent, and if there are glitches, and they are few, Customer Relations will step in and smooth the bumps out. I'm extremely satisfied with US Cellular.

Works on 2nd floor most of the time, as long as I'm close to an outside wall, dropped calls on 1st floor quite often. 90% call drop when driving S on Schaumburg Rd.; S of Higgins; between forest preserve and hospital. Seems that the hospital buildings are blocking the signal.

Rarely get reception in my apartment, phone will not even ring many times. Not rated a zero because once in awhile I can get a call through but the chances of keeping it up without standing on one foot with the opposite arm in the air is slim.
