	Effingham has good reception in general. Seven miles north of Effingham at Sigel, IL. and west of Effingham at Lake Sara the reception is terrible.

Verizon 1 Out of 5	Most days we have to go to the south side of our house to get any reception, 1 bar. Reception in our wood frame house with vinyl siding and asphalt shingles does not happen. I have complained about this for 5 years. It is not my phone, my wife has trouble with her phone as do all four of my adult children with their phones and all the residents of our town who subscribe to Verizon Wireless. I am not aware of any problems with the service of other companies but I intend to do some research to find a company with better service at my location.
