I am unable to call anyone in area code 618 who has a Cellular One cell phone using my AT&T serviced cell phone.

Never had a problem with dropped calls with Verizon. Everything works as intended.

There is no reception within the interior of the buildings here at Orchard Place. Standing outside gets you about 1 bar.

My service MetroPCS service was activated in Atlanta and I get perfect reception in Champaign, which is a huge improvement fromt the last time that I came up and tried to use this carrier in Champaign. About a year ago I ended up wasting almost a month of service due to non-reception and it works perfect now.

Never dropped a call except for in the third basement of a building, always have internet. I have been driven from Philadelphia to Atlanta to Seattle to LA and nearly everywhere between and the only times I have had any problems while was speeding through the valleys of mountains in Montana. Customer service leaves something to be desired but otherwise a great cheap provider.

We get excellent reception with Cingular both indoors and outdoors.

coverage: excellent. Service: poor. Our daily travels take us from approx 20 miles west of Chambana to about 10 miles east. Excellent coverage, including within buildings near quad. We stay with Cingular for coverage, not service< / b>, which has been poor (but probaly no worse than Verizon).

I get pretty bad reciption all around the U of I campus and in my dorm too. When on the 5th floor I get 2-3 bars only. When I go to the dinning hall in ISR (which is like on thefirst floor) I get zero bars every time. same with the basement, but that is more understandable. I miss a lot of calls, and my reception sucks when i'm not outside or on a high floor level.

Can sometimes hold a conversation with a caller when I'm in the house, but usually have to go outside. At Old Orchard Lanes in Savoy, I have practically no reception, although a friend of mine who is on Verizon has a clear signal.

Been with Cingular for two months now... am getting pretty good reception all over town... even in my lab, which is enclosed by several walls on all sides. Initially, some calls were dropped and I also have trouble if I try to use an unlocked GSM phone from my previous service provider (T-mobile).Some calls don't even reach my phone. Don't know why! But with the phone that came with the service, it is better than T-Mobile service! The 611 service is too wordy... the recorded voice keeps talking and talking! Customer service is ok, but not "great"!

Very poor reception. Often miss calls and messages. Improves going closer to downtown Urbana or to Champaign.

I rarely get dropped calls and things pretty much come through clearly, but I still don't get as many bars as I probably should in the city. On the plus side, Verizon's coverage area around Illinois, even in the middle of it, is pretty darn good compared to other carriers.

A lot of people think Sprint has a bad rep. for reception but it's really good and their plans are too!

Cingular and Sprint were sketchy a couple years ago when I tried various services. Nextel had the best signal by far over the widest area. I've heard from friend that new towers are up for the other services so they may have improved.

Cingular is just fine here.

Good service here where I live on Verizon.
