Reception is terrible... if I can get a connection inside my apartment there's obvious static and both sides have to keep repeating themselves. I originally thought it was the building itself and all cell phones were doomed, but then the ATT guys (installing internet service) kept getting calls without difficulty. They had 4 / 5 bars the whole time, no matter how deep in the building they had gone. My Verizon phone loses connection if it's not near a window. It's kind of a shame, as I've had Verizon for years (just moved out here from a place where I had excellent reception everywhere) -- I would really rather not switch to a new provider but I don't see much choice in the matter.

Constant bad signal. My entire neighbor hood has bad to no reception, yet we are in a coverage area. Poor call quality, missed calls, dropped calls. It is common to see people outside their homes on their cell phones. I live 1.8 miles away from a very tall tower, why such bad service? I will push they city to lean on the carriers to improve service, otherwise the city can stop charging us local usage taxes! this is BS! Nextel told me to install an antenna on my house... why dont they pay for it?

I rarely have any problems with coverage on T-Mobile and I've been with them for almost 3 years. I consistently have 5 bars in the Waukegan / Gurnee area, even inside my house. My previous phone (SE T610) had fewer bars, but still no trouble. Reception is bad in my workplace, but it's a huge concrete building with few windows and most people hang out by windows to make calls. I'm still able to place calls without running to a window and I'm also able to use my phone for GPRS / EDGE data with no problems. I rarely drop calls and have no coverage problems when I travel to other cities. I may be in the minority, but I'm very happy with T-Mobile's coverage and even happier with their customer service. The only reason I'd leave is because they lack a high-speed UMTS data network and don't plan to have it up until 2007. EVDO is calling me...

Excellent signal no matter where I go. I travel all around northern Suburbs and always have a good signal. I do not experience dropped calls either. Strongly would recomend T-Mobile service as well as Motorola phones!

I just got a family service pack. all 4 phones are very staticky whe they usualy work inside the house. Rarelly work inside the malls here in the burbs. in chicago works chystal clear every where. It must be the network not having enough cell towers. I have Sprint before and reception was pritty good. If this problem persist I will switch to sprint. I guess the commercial could you hear me now sais it all.

whenever I try to talk to someone for more than 10 minutes I get cut off about every 10 minutes afterwards. it's so annoying. i've had sometimes where I had absolutely no service the whole night, I couldn't call out, I couldn't even check my voice mail. i'm gonna switch to verizon... .i'm not sure which service provider is better here in the burbs. my friends in who got T-Mobile from chicago are okay. they just get dropped calls in some places but not crazy when indoors like mine. i've noticed my friends who have T-Mobile from the burbs get bad service like me. so it must be a burb thing.

Usually I get three or more bars in the area, Gurnee, Waukegan, Libertyville, Vernon Hills, North Chicago, City of Chicago, etc, almost no droped calls. I also have a Sony Ericsson T610 with T-mobile, but the Ericsson has weaker reception than my Nokia 6610. Sometimes it doesn't have signal inside of a big building while my Nokia does.
