I wrote twice before and was trying a Cingular GSM phone but my landlord in the office building (I'm off the square in a basement) said he got reception even down here on his Motorola. I tried my wife's Verizon Samsung and it worked better than anything from CIngular. I switched (bought a tri-band Motorola V325 for when I travel) and almost always have service outside and often even in the basement. Glad I switched. Good coverage wherever I go.

Get poor reception at home and poor reception outside. Occasional dropped calls, and frequent choppy calls. Sometimes reception on caller side is good, but receiver side is stuttered. On some days, reception is wonderful, but I think it depends on the weather. Worse reception at work, where colleagues phones around me would ring and I would just get messages that I have a voicemail.

I was an ATT wireless customer. Service was so-so, then after the merger with Cingular it got better, then it started to deteriorate and kept getting worse, both in Woodstock and elsehwere (I-90, Rte 47, Chicago, etc.). Before switching, I tried a newer GSM phone and it has been a great improvement. Still get at best spotty service in my office, but hey! it's in a windowless basement of a concrete building. An externl antenna will hopefully finally resolve that. They have a 30-day refund policy but I will keep it. I got a basic phone -Nokia 6010 - and have been pleased with it.

Cell phone service with Cingular is horrible in the Golf Club where I live. What makes me even more disgusted with Cingular is when I went into the Cingular store on RT 47 in Woodstock, they told me to call this 800 number and they would cancel my plan if when they tested the phone they got poor coverage in my house. I called the number, they tested the phone, the lady couldn't establish a signal, yet still they calim there is nothing they can do about it because I have a contract. I hate Cingular.

Was ATT customer with this phone for many years. Coverage was spotty, then got much better. This year it has markedly deteriorated - some of the old dead spots are back and there are many new ones. many more sropped calls and dead areas and weak areas than before.

I can see the Sprint tower from my house, yet still get "roaming" messages when trying to get reception. Forget about even trying to stay connected anywhere in Bull Valley. I'm currently looking for a new carrier.

I love US Cellular. I haven't found any town were I don't get at least 4 out of 5 bars. Absolutly the best service I've had!
