Decent enough when outside (3-4 bars), but ABYSMAL inside my ground-floor room--I get one bar (if I'm lucky) by the window, and if I cross the room to my bed, the call will drop and outbound calls will be rejected.

Spotty reception. I usually have to walk out to the driveway to have any hope of getting reception. Not fun in the winter!

I get reception in almost every room of every building on campus. I think that my phone has something to do with that though, since I seem to get better reception than most of the people I know, even those with Verizon. But I have seen a few other Verizon phones get reception even in the worst rooms as well. Overall, I believe that Verizon has the best service available... no contest.

I have to set my phone on one specific table in the house to get any reception at all. Usually, it notifies me twenty minutes after somebody calls, IF they leave a voicemail--it almost never rings. For some reason, it actually only works on my left ear at home. If I use my right ear, it cuts out. No joke. Word is Verizon and Sprint are much better 'round here.

Signal is okay in campus, but no signal at all in most classrooms. Quite a lot of drop calls.

Although I have Motorola V330, which is supposed to get good reception, I get almost no signal anywhere on the south side of campus or on the east side of town (but I see that others do get reception, even in elevators). When I do get reception, it fades in and out all the time and the sound quality is poor. I cannot believe T-Mobile claims reception on the IU campus or anywhere near campus in Bloomington.

It kind of confuses me to read positive ratings about Cingular on this site. My experience with AT&T and subsequently with Cingular has been nothing short of pathetic. Coverage would appear to be non-existent in Bloomington. There's always talk of new towers and better coverage, but in the 2 years I've been here there hasn't been a noticable improvement in service. To top it off, customer service is laborious and unhelpful. DO NOT invest in a Cingular phone if you live in Bloomington.

Reception fluctuates quickly. Can have perfect reception for a few seconds, mediocre reception for a few seconds, and then be disconnected -- all in under a minute. During daylight hours, usually can't talk for more than 15 minutes without disconnection. Nighttime is usually better.

I've had a new Nokia 6230 phone for about a month, and reception is GREAT all over town. I usually have at least 6 of 7 bars, whether I am inside or outside of buildings, near or far from campus. I was previously on AT / T CDMA, which was sometimes unreliable, but my new GPRS phone is great. I've yet to find a single place in town where I cannot get reception. My friend has T-Mobile and he can hardly ever get signal.

No recepion in any of the buildings and one bar when I am outside away from all buildings. During the times I do get one bar it still fades constantly. I have constantly called the customer service and everytime they tell me the techs will fix it... ... eventually.

I can use my phone in most elevators without missing a single word. The phone gets horrible battery life when it's out of signal range, however.

Drops every other call. Dosen't help to go anywhere outside. Was sold last week that if I bought the V3 I would have the upgraded better signal. If you can't see the lights of the tower don't call 611 or they'll drop your call also.

Very Spotty, usually cant make a call or it drops immediately. Getting Cingular to set the ATT towers as primary on your phones SIM card will help, as the ATT towers have better signal strength.

I get wonderful reception almost everywhere in Bloomington. Of course elevators are a little tricky, but if I go in on it, it won't cut out. I know it's a prepaid service... but it's one of the best.

The reception in this area of Bloomington (South side of the IU campus) is actually getting better. I get at least 3 bars outdoors, and in the upper level of the dorms, I actually get up to a full 6 bars. T-Mobile is getting a little better, but there's still room for improvement. If they say they're going to put up another tower, then stop flooding us with ads, and start spending more on the towers.

I go to school in Bloomington, IN and I am on the south side of campus most of the time. The reception is just unacceptable. I get little to no reception in these areas, and it is very annoying as I have to drop calls or not being able to use my phone at all. I get zero reception in any of the buildings, when Sprint, Cingular, and Verizon users can even use their phones in the elevators! I heard T-Mobile was putting up another tower nearby, but that was just a rumor. T-Mobile needs to spend more on reception towers and less on their advertisements.
