Travel from Lowell to Whiting daily for work. Calls are dropped REPEATEDLY, almost the entire route, although seemingly less often the farther north I am. Reception breaks up and becomes "garbled". I am SO frustrated with the service we are receiving from Sprint. I would gladly switch as my contract is up. I agree with others that have commented that the service appears to be getting worse over the years. We have been Sprint customers for a very long time.

With my current phone, the Samsung SCH-a930 and my old phone, the Samsung SCH-a650, both phones worked well, despite having a weak signal. What I liked about the Samsung SCH-a650 was it has analog, so it would go into analog, if needed. But the analog signal at times was worse than the digital signal. Both Samsung phones I own seem to work ok in this weak signal area. I can at least make a call and rarely does the audio breakup. But if I go inside the Ashland plant, then Verizon will barely work on the far west side of the building, but no service on the east side of the building. In the breakroom, my a650 would have to go into analog to make the call, while no service with my a930, since the a930 is an all-digital phone. The nearest tower Verizon is on is at the intersection of 157th Ave. and US 41, just south of Cedar Lake. I don't know if that's a PCS tower, or a cellular band tower. I just wish Verizon would get a tower inside the Lowell town limits. Cingular and Sprint have towers in town and those users get full signal strength inside the Ashland Plant, which is a metal shack with few windows, but both services can get a signal inside.
