Overall, Sprint reception in this area is average. On Lakeshore, there is 0-1 bars on average. Downtown and by both of the malls, there is usually 6 bars. That is excellent. I have little or no problems making and receiving calls in Michigan City.

i have been with Verizon for years... but it seems that since the beginning of the summer their service reception has been extremely poor. I tend to drop calls when I am around my house and that has NEVER happened to me before. it makes me sad, actually... because I love my phone and verizon, but the service just stinks lately. hopefully they are doing something about it.

I get 1 or 2 bars. Phone works well on second floor facing North. Voices break up on both sides of the conversation. Some calls are missed.

I have had this phone for over a year and I am currently looking for new service. After reading all the other comments it seems everyone is having the same problem. I do alot of boating and can't seem to get any reception on the lake. When I first bought this phone there was no reception at my condo on Moore Rd. and Rt. 12. Currently there is reception but sometimes I have to go outside. Little to no reception between Pines and Portage. No reception on the lake there either. Who has the best reception? That's a million dollar question.

From what AT&T says MC is on Centennial towers which do not work very well. I got from 5 bars to 1 bar when making calls. No incoming calls and very few outgoing. Ready to go back to landlines.

No workable reception in most of Long Beach. We have a newish tower at the town center but apparently Sprint chooses not to use it.

If I stand by a window or go outside, I might get 2 bars... but usually not. It's been this bad for years. Actually, there's few places in the Michigan City area where I can get more than 2 bars.

Nextel has one tower near 4th street and dropped plans to add another one near the High School. How could anyone plan to put one tower as far North as possible is beyond me.. There is more coverage on Lake Michigan then the M.C. area. Furthermore it seems as if Sprint may be ridding of the Nextel name completely.
