had older Nokia phones-same models, my husband's worked outside the house, mine did not, they put new towers in camp atterbury and taylorsville to improve reception, he got some calls inside the house, I still didn't get calls inside or out-until the big ad campaigns about no dropped calls. So silly me, I thought newer phones-quad band-the works-would help. Got them home and no signals at all. New phones, new towers, new att / cingular owned company and new 2 years contract and now no signal! we want to use our phones for long distance since our landlines charge to call anyone in greenwood! This area is rustic, rolling hills, and semi-rural. But everyone that comes over here from other areas and other phones can use them! Go figure! This has been ongoing for years. I had Sprint dual-band in 2000 hoping that would help, but I switched to Cingular then with hopes it would work here. It worked in Indy and Columbus.
