I get full signal just about everywhere around Peru with my Nextel phone. I had an older Sprint / Nextel Powersource phone for a while and had the same results. This area is definitely more Sprint / Nextel friendly than Verizon. Excellent coverage on Sprint / Nextel even away from town, compared to no coverage for my Verizon phone.

No data coverage. Phone shows extended network. Coverage pretty much anywhere around Peru is fair for phone calls, but forget it for anything data related. jeff.

Can not even get a signal or the network anywhere in town. Have to go clear out past the truck stop or past the airbase to get any use of the phone. Its been like this for 2+ years

You can get a tower sometimes by the water tower in the modern, sometimes at the beach parking lot. The most consistent place to get a tower is at the fishing pier in the modern campground.

At home, I have great reception - however if I travel 5 miles north, there is not reception at all. Overall - we have had great success with US Cellular.

Recent tower addition downtown covers city very good. Southern edge of county poor signal due to end of the carriers area.
