AT&T just turned on their HSPA+ network for my area (Vincennes, Indiana) yesterday. Signal quality has dropped considerably since they started working on the network (3-28-2012), but call quality is still good. no dropped calls or signal. Data connections with 4g are much better over the edge network. My Speeds changed from 20KBs down, 15KBs up to 500KBs down, 140KBs up, with 2 - 3 bars or (90 -100 dbm). A definite improvement. Hopefully signal quality will get better as they finish up with the network. No doubt data speeds will increase with better reception. Right now is a good time to have a 4G or LTE phone here in Indiana. I wasn't sure before as I was not able to really use my data for much of anything. I am now pleased with my service and won't mind paying the bill from now on.

I get very good reception, but its only 2G (Edge) and I'm in town. I've called AT&T so many times trying to find out when we will have 3G coverage here and no one can ever give me an answer. Other cities are already on HSPA+ and LTE, yet we don't even have 3G here.

if you live in a dorm, expect horrible reception, text messages that take ages to send, and every call dropped. Verizon never was this bad.

Usually pretty horrible unless you're higher than ground level, like the 2nd floor of a house or the school.
