I usually have 1 bar of reception! I get lots of dropped calls, weak voice, sometimes horrible connection, or the other side can't hear me (even though I hear them clearly). I live in a 2nd floor apartment, and even when I'm next to the window, reception is horrible. Sometimes (and that's rare) I'd get two or three bars, but then I just lose them in a matter of seconds. I get excellent reception when I'm around campus or in Lafayette.

Cingular is by far the BEST for the greater Lafayette area. hands down. I get service literally everywhere, even in the basements of a few buildings.

Cingular just sucks in my area. There is little or absolutely no reception in my apartment and the customer service is just awful. They are still the biggest highway robbers you would ever find. Fooled me into a 2 year contract with offers of rollover minutes with 29.99 plan and then told me later that the offer is only with 39.99 plan. I should have stuck to AT&T plan or switched to Verizon that is supposed to be much better

Perfect reception all around West Lafayette / Lafayette, IN.

I have had Cingular here at purdue for a month now, and so far have been extremely pleased. With very few exceptions, I get perfect reception in all builings on the Purdue campus. When I see people with Verizon lining up outside the dorms to try to get reception outside, it makes me very glad I chose Cingular. I would recommend it to any Purdue student!

Great reception whereever i go.. I travel between Lafayette and Terre Haute frequently and get amazing coverage - considering I am frequently 25+ miles from civilzation. However, if you go just 20 or so miles north of lafayette, coverage drops out pretty bad..

Motorola phone rings however not usable. Reception goes form 1 to 3 but as soon as it is answered it drops out.
