Drop a rare call; Sometimes need to go near window for better reception. Interestingly, bars go up if you close open applications you are not using: Slide bar to open then press and hold bottom button until open apps are seen at the bottom of the screen as a row of icons. To close the open apps, press and hold one of the open icons until it wiggles then tap the little "x" in the corner of the icons. Turning off the phone will not turn off the applications that are open. This will definitely increase speed of incoming data as well. Gotta love the genius bar!

Have 3G in Zionsville and have little trouble throughout the city of Indianapolis. Like some others have mentioned, no reception in certain areas that may actually have blocked reception (ie my child's school and the ER, etc.). Overall, great reception very little drop out.

Frequent dropped calls and / or no signal with the Cingular service. Plan to switch to Sprint to see if it's any better.
