Overall, Alltel pretty much suchs reception wise in this area. It did pretty well around the Wichita area but as soon as you leave city limits you go into roaming. I was told when I bought the phone that I would get decent reception in Augusta but have not found one spot out of Wichita where I am not in roaming. The customer service seemed ok but have only had the phone for one day. Thank god for the 15 day no penalty return policy. I'll be out my activation fees but it's better than never being able to use my phone for the next two years!

May be temporary. Until three days ago (and for a good year back, which is when I started using them) they've been rock solid - never anything but full reception. Last three days it's been nearly dead calm - once in a great while I get a single bar and might be able to blast through a few bytes, but otherwise dead. Hopefully a temp problem.

I have Alltel and have never been so dissatisfied in my life. Since I have moved to Augusta I get absolutely awful reception. And my phone switches to roaming.
