July, 2006 When I inquired about the increase in the numbers of "dropped calls" on my cell-phone while outside the city limits, I was told this was due to the "corn being so tall and absorbing the signal". Interesting, theory. I was NOT humored! Especially, when the suggestion was then made to complain to 1-800... Like they're going to make the corn shorter?? I think the problem lies in Alltel equipment, not the corn, personally. When I contacted Alltel, via email- since I was afraid my call would be dropped... I was told "unfortunately you are in a fringe area which means little or no signal". Their "status" notation indicated "solved". HA! So much for customer satisfaction! In THAT case my monthly fees for multiple phones is a joke, too. WAY too much cash for little or no signal! Not to mention the echo in the conversations! Gotta a can and some string?
