Text, voice mail, and data all work when you are using your phone. Unfortunately if someone calls you or sends a text you will be notified up to several hours later most days. Another point is that the "Nations Fastest Network" only has edge data speeds available in our area, which is only slightly preferable to dialup. ATT has setup a new 3G tower or boosted an old one recently and this makes the Iphone flip out and switch back and forth between the old edge tower and the new 3G tower. Our solution was to cancel ATT and get Verizon which has been perfect, clear calls and always get 3G internet.
