I have been with Alltel for 3 years and would not recommend them to ANYONE. As far as reception they are great but when I started having problems with my MOTO Q (which they had record was a bad phone) they refused for a year to replace the phone for me, after returning it several times and finding that there was nothing I'd done to damage the phone; the customer service people were very rude and very unhelpful. I had to contact a supervisor after being hung up on by a rep. and the supervisor accused me of lying about my phone. FINNALLY after a year of going around with this they said they would give me a new phone for free because of their error but when I got my next bill they charged me for the phone anyways and refused to take the charges away and shut my services off until I pay the bill in full. I just decided to go with another company.

I can honestly say that Alltel seems to have the best coverage, in and around Wichita, of any of the major carriers. I had Verizon for a long time(3 years) and my girlfriend had Alltel. After a few years of dating, we noticed that there were a number of occassions in which I would have to use her phone because mine (Verizon) didn't have coverage. South and West of Wichita in the more rural communites, Alltel wins hands-down. Inside of Wichita, it's about even. I'm actually using Sprint now because I have / love the Samsung Instinct but still rate the top three carriers, in order of best coverage, as Alltel, Verizon and Sprint.

I have had some down times out is this area. but for the most part Alltel is the one to go with in Western Kansas. Good Hunting for a wireless service that is any good. Seem to me that they all are raising there prices and getting less service from them. My two cents.

Alltell Is crap! Over 2 years tons of droped calls Husband hollering at me cause I don't hear the phone ring, and it never did, in our home, missed calls the phone never rings. Got to step outside to get reception to make a call.

Horrible reception at Central and Hillside and at my home near 53rd St. North and Seneca. Complained for three days in a row at the North Rock Alltel and they called the police on thew third time. No action was taken by police but they said if I came back to complain that they would issue a no trespassing order. All I wanted to do was drop my contract after having the phone for only six weeks. They said it would cost me $400.00 to do it. Not concerened that I was not getting reception at home and at work. Horrible company.

I have been with Alltel for 7 years and have had enough. I'm leaving to try Sprint. The signal when I'm at home is "low" with Alltel and this results in dropped calls It is impossible to drive on the highway and have a conversation for more than 30 minutes as the call will drop when you go from one tower to the next or from one county to another. I cannot drive from wichita to newton and have a conversation with Alltel service. I cannot drive from wichita to hutchinson and have uninterrupted phone call. My phone began dropping calls on a daily basis a month ago. It quit working completely about 10 days ago but I cannot leave Alltel until my contract ends. I need my number with my new service but Alltel tells me they will charge me an early leaving fee of $200 X 3 if I change my number. I offered to simply continue paying my Alltel service and transfer my number to Sprint but Alltel says it cannot do that. I use the phone for business and can only call my voice mail every couple of hours to check messages. It is impossible for anyone to contact me directly even though I'm paying for Alltel phone service.

I have always had the best luck with Alltel. We have had our phones with Alltel since 1992 and they have only continued to improve whether that being customer service, phones, or towers. We went with Alltel because it was the only option for our location when we lived in Kingman. I moved to Wichita last August and have had phenominal coverage. Only have two calls dropped my entire time here. The only spot that I always really have trouble with is driving on Kellogg as soon as I get into Goddard at the main intersection. If I'm on a call there it is always certain to drop while switching between towers. Overall I find Alltel to be a Great Company and recommend it for anyone.

Alltel is my provider and to me there service is good to excellent.you can go to just about anyware in the state without roming.And my last phone a v710 did excellent its year of service.And like the fact they replaced it with the e815 the only drawback with the e815 is on axcess apps.the weather apps are not there.But could be add ed soon I got the the RAZR its cool... . And mycast 5. weather is the best! If you use your phone to watch the weather.!

Alltel: When we commute over to wichita our signal is good to excellent. There's a few dead spots from tower to tower but in time they'ill be filled. Before Alltel came to wichita we roam- ed on Verizon's system and the signal was good to excellent.we have 2 v710's and they work ok but id like to upgrade to the e815 or razrv3c. I have had Alltel for 6 years and frequently travel to Wichita. Have always had good coverage in Wichita. The roaming partner in Wichita with Alltel is Verizon and I almost always have service wherever I go in Wichita and throughout Kansas. I have tried other carriers including Verizon, and Cingular. None give as good of coverage as Alltel does on the road or in the city. It is the only carrier that I can use to do business between Wichita and KC and have coverage most of the distance.

Doesn't matter how many bars of service you have with this carrier you will have many dropped calls. It's a good thing they credit a minute back to your bill for dropped calls because you are going to need it. Most of the time when you make a call you switch to analog, eating up your battery. I purchased a national plan with no roaming in the U.S. and have had roaming charges on bill while I was in Wichita. When I called about this the service rep asked me if I read the fine print on the coverage map. I am done with Alltel.

ATT needs a tower on the EAST side of Park City,I get fairly.good reception in the house of 2-3 bars but their tower is on the west side of town by 135 and 61st. Would be much better to get FULL 5 bars!

I have great difficulty sending texts from my office downtown, especially picture messages. My phone only works half the time (if that) for calls from my desk. I live 4 miles east of downtown in Crown Heights, and I can hardly ever talk on the phone from my bedroom. One of the most frustrating things is that my phone says I have 5 bars, but text messages still won't send and calls still won't go through. This spring my friends and I went to the rodeo in Stafford, KS. AT&T's service completely gave up halfway there, but my friends with Verizon still had full coverage in Stafford.

3G Performance is spotty at best. I consistently get dropped calls and call failed all day long. Forget about trying to use data in this area. For calls, I even tried 2G and still the quality is poor in this area. People I talk to get intermittent talking from me on 2G. A co-worker had a high level case on this issue, and AT&T denies that anything is wrong.

I've had AT&T in Wichita for a year and a half now. Their data coverage sucks in the rest of the state (although I think they finally just greenlit 3G coverage in Manhattan), but the Wichita area is great. I work out in Goddard, and there's a bit to be desired, but I think a new tower has gone online out there because coverage has gotten a bit better.

never had a problem with AT&T have full bars and 3g all over wichita and full bars and edge when I went to idaho haven't had a problem with them at all if living in wichita don't go with T-Mobile or Sprint I used to have T-Mobile very bad service here same with Sprint can't make calls inside buildings Verizon and AT&T are the heavy hitters here in wichita

I have had AT&T (Cingular) for 4 years now. The reception is EXCELLENT everywhere in Wichita (and I mean everywhere.) I also had great luck around surroundings (all the way to Oklahoma.) I am very happy with my cell service. I used it all over North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rica) with NO problems at all and with NO roaming at all. I also used my phone with great service in the following countries with EXCELLENT coverage: South America: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Domican Republic, Bolivia, Colombia. Europe: Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Findland, Norway, Italy, Greece, UK, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, Denmark, Russia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Iceland. Middle East: Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Egypt, Sauid Arabia, Morocco, Turkey. APAC: Singapore, India, Malaysia, Japan, China. South Korea was the ONLY place I had major reception problem. Ciao,

I have had Cingular / AT&T for 11 years, while living in Alabama and now Wichita. For 8 years with Cingular, I don't think I EVER had a dropped call. As soon as Cingular was bought out by AT&T, we've had dropped calls constantly on all 3-4 phones on our plan (various makes / models) both in Alabama and now in Wichita. I've spent hours with customer service and been told all sorts of things, but nothing makes any difference. I can't afford to cancel contracts on this many phones, but will leave AT&T as soon as our contracts are all up and will never go back.

I had AT&T for more than 10 years, with almost non-existent reception at my house. After calling them to complain for years, and them promising it will get better soon, I switched to Sprint. No problem getting 5 bars with Sprint at my house.

cannot receive or place voice call. receive text messages but cannot place one. If you work in this area and NEED service I would look at another carrier!
