We've been with Verizon for about 7 years now and we've gotten great reception with them almost everywhere we've been including Mexico. Southeast Kansas doesn't have good reception but I'm not sure any carrier has good reception there! I never get dropped calls and I get clear voice transmission as well. Only my daughter uses data or Web and she's never complained about that so I guess it's good too. The biggest problem with Verizon is that they are the most expensive carrier! We're looking to switch to smart phones and it will cost us $220 / month for 3 smart phones! Too much!

I usually get a 4g signal with my Motorola xoom in my house on the south end of Wichita. However at this end of town 47th and seneca I get dropped occasionally and never get more than 2 out of 4 bars. A few miles north near 31st and Seneca I almost always get 4 full bars on 4g. I'm extremely happy with 4g when out and about in Wichita. I would give an excellent rating if I could get full 4 bars in 4g on the south end where I reside.

I have been with Verizon Wireless for 6 years. I switched from ATT Wireless before they were bought out by Cingular. I have been happy with the service thus far. However, since they formally anounced the integration of the Alltel network, my service has dropped SEVERELY. I cannot make phone calls inside of my house, and can barely get service outside of it. I have been told that this should improve in September, but I am doubtful. However, Verizon Wireless will continue to enjoy my loyalty because they treat their customers as such and not as a disposable money bag.

Switch from AT&T due to lack of native service and roaming. Verizon (now owns alltel) has great service all over the state. 3G data everywhere I go.

Never used anything but verizon. 0 dropped calls from Wichita to Colorado Springs. My only complaint is rural areas with analog networks don't permit texting, but I've yet to find a dead zone as far as calls are concerned.

I have been with Verizon for about 5 years and use a 4 line family plan. Currently I have no problems with them. I make trips to Salina and McPherson every week and virtually never have a drop out. The reception is clear and the phone works fine. The reason I am on this site is because I am strongly considering the new Apple iPhone. I am a 22 year Apple Veteran and enthusiast. The comments here regarding Cingular are not very encouraging, though. (Verizon - Get with Apple.) Over the years Verizon has finally improved their billing system so you don't have to argue with them every other month any more... Their biggest problem that continues is the messaging system. I tell people to NEVER leave a timely message on my Verizon phone because it might be a week or more before I receive it. The message system is lousy.

Verizon is superior to Cingular both locally and on the road. I could hardly use Cingular in Western Kansas and Verizon is much better. There are some places that my reception is not as good as others but overall, it is much better than Cingular. Also had Sprint and that was a joke!

I have to give my reception a 5 simply because no matter how many bars I have, I still have crystal clear reception with very little break up. I love Verizion. I can travel any where in the US and have no issues at all.

Traveled all over the country and have had better coverage than other friends and fellow Business travelers. The only thing I don't like is that you can have spotty service along some of the major highways, but, that can be due to the land features in the area (Hills, Buildings, Overpasses).

I have been with Verizon Wireless for more than 6 years, service has been good and the coverage has been excellent. Daily commute to Hutchinson and some known "no coverage" areas on the way where calls tend to drop. But within Wichita and Hutchinson cities reception is very good. My current plan expires this month and have been looking at other providers (cingular, just for the cool Razr V3) but after reading these reviews may be I should stick to Verizon. Cons: Verizon family plans are expensive compared to others. Cheapest family plans run for $70, no rollover minutes or any other features available with other providers.

I usually get only the bottom bar or two for signal all around town. Best signal around 13th and West St. area, north side of town. There have been some occasions when I will have absolutely zero service for the greater part of the day. I have been told it is my phone, but model but I don't know about that. Thinking about switching to Cingular or T-Mobile here in a couple weeks. I know Sprint here sucks.
