I have been with Verizon for about 5 years and use a 4 line family plan. Currently I have no problems with them. I make trips to Salina and McPherson every week and virtually never have a drop out. The reception is clear and the phone works fine. The reason I am on this site is because I am strongly considering the new Apple iPhone. I am a 22 year Apple Veteran and enthusiast. The comments here regarding Cingular are not very encouraging, though. (Verizon - Get with Apple.) Over the years Verizon has finally improved their billing system so you don't have to argue with them every other month any more... Their biggest problem that continues is the messaging system. I tell people to NEVER leave a timely message on my Verizon phone because it might be a week or more before I receive it. The message system is lousy.

I have been with Cingular for 4 years and have been reasonably satisified with service. Have been pleased that when I travel to southeast Kansas, the reception has been good for the most part between Wichita and Pittsburg. The family plan with rollover minutes has been good. After reading reviews, may switch to Verizon as my contract is about up.

Verizon is superior to Cingular both locally and on the road. I could hardly use Cingular in Western Kansas and Verizon is much better. There are some places that my reception is not as good as others but overall, it is much better than Cingular. Also had Sprint and that was a joke!

I get good coverage with T-Mobile all over the Wichita area. I have never had any problems with my Samsung phone. I don't even remember the last time I had a dropped call with it. T-Mobile really provides excellent service. Like any carrier, though, you do have to have the right phone. I had 2 Motorola phones that I had to return during the buyer's remorse period because of dropped calls. I have found Samsung and Nokia work the best.

I have T-Mobile and I get excellent reception just about anywhere I go within the City. I just about always have full bars of signal. I have been very pleased with the service. The only places I have had any problems were in rural areas and suburbs outside the city. Even then, I recvd ok coverage with 2 or 3 bars

Although the reception is quite good in most of Wichita, my phone goes into digital roaming much of the time. Lately, when people call me, the phone doesn't even ring. I moved to Wichita about 6 months ago, and the problems just keep getting worse. Ever since Sprint merged with Nextel things have been going down hill. I just ordered a phone through Cingular and will give it a try. After reading reviews on here, I am fairly convinced it could be even worse than Sprint, and I will be sending the phone back within the 30-day trial. Perhaps the best solution is to move back to Minnesota or Iowa...

Sprint service has pleased me, I've been with them for 3 years now. In certain types of construction, (ie. steel buildings, concrete buildings) the receptions gets kind of iffy, also in my basement. But... There really isn't much roaming even in little towns hundreds of miles away. You still get Sprint service, and you're never out of your "service area" which means you won't be charged for using someone else's towers / network, ect. For example, I moved to Indianapolis and my phone never worked better without having to change my plan or coverage region. Only downside to Sprint is while in store, you really can't get questions answered regarding phone problems, but I have only had one problem since being with Sprint, they are doing something right...

I have been with Alltel for 7 years and have had enough. I'm leaving to try Sprint. The signal when I'm at home is "low" with Alltel and this results in dropped calls It is impossible to drive on the highway and have a conversation for more than 30 minutes as the call will drop when you go from one tower to the next or from one county to another. I cannot drive from wichita to newton and have a conversation with Alltel service. I cannot drive from wichita to hutchinson and have uninterrupted phone call. My phone began dropping calls on a daily basis a month ago. It quit working completely about 10 days ago but I cannot leave Alltel until my contract ends. I need my number with my new service but Alltel tells me they will charge me an early leaving fee of $200 X 3 if I change my number. I offered to simply continue paying my Alltel service and transfer my number to Sprint but Alltel says it cannot do that. I use the phone for business and can only call my voice mail every couple of hours to check messages. It is impossible for anyone to contact me directly even though I'm paying for Alltel phone service.
