AT&T representative talked me into getting this "new, improved" cellphone as opposed to my old cellphone, saying that it would have "much better reception" and "you should not have to worry about dropped calls or not receiving your text messages 3 hours or more later", sooooo I believed him and said yes to the new phone AND a new plan as of course my old one was not yet due for a free upgrade! PLEASE people do NOT fall for this crap, as I did! It is NOT worth your hard earned money! We are constantly told we are getting better and better from this company yet in reality we are not! Soooo disappointing!

Unless I am in a major meropolitan area this phone and AT&T is horrible. I've been to Europe, Asia, middle east and all areas have better cell phone service than the US. No company gives a crap anymore unless you're a surburbanite. Absolutely trash.

Very bad reception about 5mi south of cadiz,ky. AT&T suggest get a newer, better phone(I was told this was one of the better phones for reception,it's less than 6 months old).I believe there is little difference in the phones. These companys are just like cable tv,internet service,etc, It 's not cost effective to better service rural areas.That's why we have to but expensive satellite internet, tv etc. The consumer will have to find a product to boost signal.

We live in the rural Roaring Springs / Cadiz, KY area. I upgraded my phone to a Blackberry Curve. I love the phone, but yet still... I have to transfer all my calls when I'm at home to our house phone. Otherwise, I'll miss most calls or they will be dropped. I miss tons of multimedia messages simply because they will not download. I hate talking on my cell phone because there is a 100% guarantee that my call will be dropped. I should not have to stand in one spot in my home to talk. There is a tower located less than 10 miles from us. My other half has a $15 prepay phone that he uses his sim card in and he has better reception on it than I do on mine. I'm beginning to hate ATT!

Verizon worked fairly well for 3 years. Then we lost any signal, they said we were in a no service area. Cingular seemed to work for neighbors, we borrowed a phone and were able to get a signal throughout the house. Therefor we switched to Cingular (with a lot of grief because we wanted to keep our out of state numbers since the phones are used for business). This was shortly after AT&T bought Cingular. Everything was great for a couple of weeks, then we started getting NO SERVICE on the phones. Our neighbors with AT&T lost service also. Finally someone was told that they had boosted their signal at the tower and the FCC made them reduce it again. I was told we live in a no service area and should have been told that before I switched. Guess I will go back to Verizon once the contract is up. Mean time I bought a Z Boost Wireless Extender and mounted the antenna outside on the roof. It worked great for 2 weeks and then died. Now I am back to no service.

there is no reception from either place. Verizon has a tower there, but I have Cingular service

Useless! Can anyone recommend a service that works in Western Kentucky?

I received one call when I was on top of a hill right in the center of Cadiz. Otherwise I have had no reception from Verizon in the three months I have been in this area.

We just bought our house and have been able to use our cell phones 3 times (must have been luck) to make calls. We can text message though. We recently found out that the problem could be we have digital only phones and our area is analog only. So, we are buying a used triband phone on ebay to see if that helps any. Otherwise, we are saying goodbye to Verizon when our contract is up.
