I can go 16 miles north east of Carrollton or 15 miles west of carrollton. I can go all the way to Frankfort or Louisville and even Cincinnatti and never lose reception with my VERIZON phone that Pat at Pat's Video recomended to me. Thanks

AT&T has always been OK in Indian Hills with Verizon and other carriers having real trouble covering this low lying neighborhood in an otherwise well covered region. Weak spots exist in the city of Carrollton and the US 42 corridor (going north along the river toward the factories and industry) and also weak along 36 west leaving Carrollton going toward Madison. However: AT&T has finally moved forward with a new tower for the Carrollton area. A new tower is under construction on Martin Rd very near the Archema plant. The tower is line-of-sight visible through most of the city of Carrollton and should provide excellent signal and service for all of the city and a large part of the under served US 42 corridor heading north out of town (Dow Corning Plant, NAS, BPB N.A., etc). No known time of the tower going live or whether the new tower will carry 4G data services but I expect it in the coming months (June July time maybe) and would imagine a new tower would serve up the latest data standards (4G for ATT).

Cingular is the worst service around. We get almost no signal anywhere where we live, even in the middle of town.

What reception? I've had verizon, AT&T and now Cingular. Carrollton is one huge BLACK HOLE. But I was absolutely AMAZED when I saw a contractor get a cell phone call inside a concret and stell 'bunker' in a location where none of our provides have a signal. Guy said his carrier was ALLTEL. We are DEFINATELY going to check them out.

Cingular has absolutely no service once you leave Prestonville until you get 13 miles down the road to Milton, where it is spotty. Even in Carrollton, before Prestonville, it is hard to make a call.
