The reception in this area is very poor. There are spots where you can go and get a signal, but low-lying areas are typically dead zones. A few places on the lake have a signal, but for the most part, it is dead. I have seen Verizon phones work in places where AT&T is DEAD.

Terrible! Thats all I can say. I guess you get what you pay for but this is ridiculous I hate being tied up in contracts but its a waste of money to pay for phones and never be able to use them.

I cannot send or receive calls when inside Kroger or Wal-mart, which is very frustrating. My cell phone will not pick up in my home, either. It will only work on the main roads or the interstate when in Corbin. In Knoxville or Lexington, I can call from anywhere.

I have had a Cingular phone for about four years and have always been very satisfied. Signal was great virtually everywhere. I could even attach an external antenna and get signal in extreme southeastern Kentucky where almost no one has service. However, for the past couple of months the signal has been very poor and variable. I have an older cdma phone which still gets good signal. Is anyone else experiencing this kind of difficulty? If signal doesn't improve, I am going to explore other options. I don't even have signal in my home in the center of Corbin.

For a company like Cingular to claim they have the all over network, seems like one big lie to me. I get zero coverage at home, my wife is on Sprint and gets full coverage! Worst still, my business is very near the Interstate exit 29 on I-75 and I get very poor coverage there too. If I had known this I would have not gone with cingular. When I went back to the store to tell them of the problems they said that the network does not cover the whole area that I work in or live in, any signal strength I do get is from towers further away. So why I ask are there so many Cingualr dealers in Corbin in the first place, seems to me that there are more stores than signal towers.

There really needs to be a tower put up for people on and around the lake.

There seems to be lots of dead zones in this area. They keeps promising more towers and better reception in a few months but this has been going on for 3 years now. Grrrrrr!!
