I had been with AT&T / Cingular / AT&T for 15 years, and as mentioned in another post, reception has always been bad in Southern Kentucky but had gotten even worse over the past 6 to 12 months. Verizon and Sprint have also offered 3G data service for over 2 years the Corbin / London area, while AT&T is still using old EDGE technology. Local AT&T reps also lie about "Future" 3G coverage, for the past 3 years saying "it will be here in the fall", and this year have even have gone as far as creating bogus 3G coverge maps to give to local salespeople so they will keep selling phones. I switched to Verizon 4 months ago, and it has been like night and day service wise, not only in my area but the entire I-75 corridor. I don't lose calls on 5th street, I-75, or anywhere, and Verizon also has 3G data coverage practically everywhere I go. Also, local family and friends from London, North Corbin, even farms West of Canadatown, where I had no coverage with AT&T, have 3 or 4 bars with Verizon (with my Droid X 4 bars is max.) AT&T doesn't care about the small markets, and they prove it in our area.
