On Post Housing @ Ft.Knox-Prichard Place, Fort Knox, KY 40121 |

Since moving here reception is awful. Notified AT&T and they sent me a link to their coverage map. My area is good reception according to them (which is laughable!). Sitting in the house, I will get 3 bars at most if I stay in that specific area. If I move I loose that. Going outside isn't much better. I can hardly ever get hubby on his cell when he's at work in a building. Before moving up here to Knox, hubby was in housing with his unit that he had to stay in (it's only about 2 miles down the road). He had to put his phone in the window to get one bar and when he answered, he'd loose me and have to go out side to talk to me or anyone else that called. I would get so aggravated when I had to call him because I would always get his voice mail. We moved up here planning on not getting a house phone but due to bad reception, we had to. When you get into town things are better but I don't live there!

Reception in most of housing on post is incredibly difficult. It's not just Cingular, we know of NO ONE who has decent coverage out here. Know that if you're a cell phone only person and planning to live on post, you'll have to connect a land line in order to have reliable service.

When we lived in the cynder block housing, reception was not good with any cell phone (Cellular One was our carrier back then). Most everyone had the same problem. We live in new housing now and we can talk inside and get perfect reception. Never have a problem. Drove to and from Ft. Lewis, WA and the only areas we could not get service were in the middle of nowhere (parts of MT, WY, and SD). Not even a gas station to be found.

Came to Ft Knox for annual training in the field. I had good reception with both T-Mobile and boost mobile.

Never had a dropped call before I got here. Unreliable signal strength. It goes from no serivce to 4 bars with in seconds and vice versa. Drop calls on almost every call that is longer than three minutes or longer.

My Verizon phone seems to be caught in a tug-o-war between the extended network and the Verizon Network. The phone works well but the constant back and forth is aggrivating because we are on the fringe of the Verizon network, so it definatley works better on the extended network here. But even with that I still seem to have less overall problems than my coworkers with other carriers.
