Reception is always great. I've had no issues in this area or any other with Verizon for over a decade!

We have no service and have to literally drive 5 miles to get any. Customer service has been no help except to offer us an expensive microcell unit. It's horrible they want to charge extra for equipment when they claim we have excellent coverage and they have the largest network.

I've been with AT&T for quite some time. I have never had any issues with service or coverage. I've traveled all over the USA and portions of Canada and always have service. I am a very happy, longtime customer of AT&T and I will remain a customer until the other carriers can do better. Much better.

We've been with AT&T since they were known as Bellsouth, then Cingular Wireless, and now known as AT&T. I've never had any problems with my home, cellular, or internet service.

I will probably switch back to Verizon. Some mis information being posted. The AT&T ice storm failure was not simply generators, but a major fiber cut due to the ice. There may have been a generator incident or two. But that was not the ultimate culprit. And, Verizon went down in southern IL, during the May 2009 Wind Storm. No provider is immune to the elements mother nature can throw at them. AT&T 3G is faster than Verizon's, but not enough to make a substantial difference. Verizon is superior to AT&T in southern IL, and that does have to do with several factors. Verizon is not superior anymore in western Kentucky than AT&T. However, if you think Verizon is not good at KY Oaks mall, try AT&T. It is absolutely horrible. In central KY, you do not want Verizon. AT&T has areas just east of the Pennyrile much more covered than Verizon. Their plight is similar to what AT&T has to deal with in southern Illinois. Overall, after having had both providers though, I'd have to say, Verizon wins.

I actually get no bars for at least three hours everyday. I've called to inquire. They're always polite as they explain they are working on towers "in your area" or are "upgrading the system". I'd be ashamed to work for a company that has been doing this for well over a year.

Your frustration is warranted, considering that AT&T is so far behind Verizon when it comes to the 3G network upgrade process. That is largely in part due to recent lack of spectrum because of the Cingular divestiture to AllTel. They've had to in essence rebuild in the network. Had the network already been stout enough, 3G would have already been here. But this area was unlucky in that regard. Anyway, once 3G is established, many folks will be much happier with their data service. When AT&T 3G works right, it's darn fast. Having said that, Verizon's 3G has been here since Fall 2007. And when go into rural areas outside of Paducah, you can still get 3G with Verizon. That will likely not be the case with AT&T, as they, so far, tend to have their network upgrades confined to populated and heavily traveled areas first. It may be forever before, say, parts of Livingston, or Crittenden county get AT&T 3G. But you can with Verizon (for the most part). Hang in there.
