I live in the Pikeville area. My family and I have used both App. Wireless and AT&T phones in the past.. Quite honestly I fail to see much difference in reception between the two. I think it is much nicer to have great phones and decent reception rather than sticking with App. Wireless and their crap phones and outrageous data prices.

Supposedly AT&T was going to put a tower on Foggy Mountain last year, but has never been done. Then there was talk about going onto Appalachian wirelsess's tower, but, that hasn't happened either. Appalachian user can use their phone in my home! When I called AT&T and asked about it, the girl mentioned something about a "bat law"? WTH is that?? Something about bats flying during the season. AT&T = epic FAIL!

I had to switch my service to App. Wireless because of hardly no service in the area which I live in. Thanks AT&T for the service which I had. Maybe later I will switch back.

I live in between dorton and belfry. The singal in pikeville is decent. But when you hit belfry and dorton my phones goes dead. Cingular needs to be towers in place ASAP. The reason why I went with Cingular is because of the rollover mins and the they don't charge for roaming. I hope this will get to cingular.

Cingular is not good in this mountainous area. Appalachian Wireless seems to do alot better with coverage, depending which phone you select. The Nokia brand does better than others such as Motorola etc.
