Very near EKU campus in Richmond, the service is very poor. AT&T does not have even half way decent service right in town. If I get a call it is a surprise, most people that call me tell me they tried to call me 2 or 3 times before they get me and they tell me they get a fast busy signal or it just keeps ringing and ringing like it never connects because they don't even get my voicemail. On my end it doesn't show a missed call it just never comes through. Sometimes it goes straight to voicemail and my phone never rings. This is very common with AT&T service in my area as well as dropped calls. When someone attempts to call me and can't get me or I talk to someone and have to call them back because of a missed or dropped call they always say "you must have AT&T". It is common knowledge how bad the service issues are here. The saddest part is that AT&T doesn't seem to care, they seem to be banking on the fact alot of their customers are trapped in a contract. I am one. They won't be able to count on that forever, I have almost decided that it's worth the cost to get out of my contract. At least it's up on one of my lines. Many others will decide the same or leave when their contract is up. In this area friends that have Verizon seem to have great service. I am considering switching to that service provider.

I think its ridiculous, its so bad - I don't live in the country at all in fact I actually live near the downtown area... tis astounding how I only have 2-3 bars in downtown and the 3g - internet access speed is just junk

my house is only.5 miles from I75 in Madison Village. between exit 90 and exit 95 which takes you to Winchester. I find it amazing that I can drive to Winchester and get 3G signal but I cannot get AT&T signal here to do anything. 100% pure junk!

Less than a half mile into Curtis Pike after turning left from Barnes Mill there is no signal. In our home around the area, signal is very week. Maybe 2 bars at the most.

I have a Tri-Band phone, which means I dont' get the 850 band! But, amazingly, I have great coverage! In the country roads, it isn't so good 1-2 bars or so, but in downtown Richmond, I get 4-5 bars EVERYWHERE. ~Ibrahim~

No real problems with reception here. Occasionally after we dial we will get a "Call Failed" message, but I don't recall the last time Nextel dropped a call when it was already connected. Sometimes it seems to take a while to connect a caller to us... "Please wait while the Nextel subscriber you are trying to reach is located." Overall, it's good, and I'm not looking to change.

I have been with Tmo for eight years and stayed due to cost, but coverage in Richmond area has gotten worse than the already weak coverage. Many areas with zero coverage in North Richmond and Redhouse and Tatescreek Rd area. Mainly three bar 2G and very few places with Edge. You get what you pay for, I guess. I bailed to Verizon. I pay $20 more a month for family, but get FAR better coverage and 3G in place where it was no signal with Tmo.

Not sure about the other comments about Verizon in Richmond KY, but I have not lost 3G but a few times (never less than 1X) and able to stream video with NO problems. I have not lost a signal anywhere in the Richmond or Winchester areas. Compared to AT&T and Tmo in the same areas, Verizon blows them away. Tmo sucks- real bad in Richmond, but okay in Winchester city area.

Verizon coverage is terrible here. I'm a long time Verizon customer in Huntsville, AL. Since moving to Richmond, KY I rarely get more than one bar. I'm switching to AT&T.
