I think its ridiculous, its so bad - I don't live in the country at all in fact I actually live near the downtown area... tis astounding how I only have 2-3 bars in downtown and the 3g - internet access speed is just junk
my house is only.5 miles from I75 in Madison Village. between exit 90 and exit 95 which takes you to Winchester. I find it amazing that I can drive to Winchester and get 3G signal but I cannot get AT&T signal here to do anything. 100% pure junk!
Less than a half mile into Curtis Pike after turning left from Barnes Mill there is no signal. In our home around the area, signal is very week. Maybe 2 bars at the most.
No real problems with reception here. Occasionally after we dial we will get a "Call Failed" message, but I don't recall the last time Nextel dropped a call when it was already connected. Sometimes it seems to take a while to connect a caller to us... "Please wait while the Nextel subscriber you are trying to reach is located." Overall, it's good, and I'm not looking to change.
Verizon coverage is terrible here. I'm a long time Verizon customer in Huntsville, AL. Since moving to Richmond, KY I rarely get more than one bar. I'm switching to AT&T.
I have a Tri-Band phone, which means I dont' get the 850 band! But, amazingly, I have great coverage! In the country roads, it isn't so good 1-2 bars or so, but in downtown Richmond, I get 4-5 bars EVERYWHERE. ~Ibrahim~
