What was I thinking? I switched from Verizon to ATT to get rollover minutes and free mobile to mobile with my friends, most of whom are on ATT. I've had ATT service for over a year now and it has gotten inreasingly worse. From the very beginning I was getting only 1-2 bars, frequently down to zero at home and frequently dropped calls. I took the phone back to the store because they said maybe I had a defective phone. Well, 3 phones later and I am getting dropped calls EVERY DAY, failed calls EVERY DAY and my phone only rings about 50% of the time when someone calls me. I"ve spent approximately 5 hours on the phone with ATT tech support in the past week alone. Nothing is any better. The map shows I am in a reception of not best, but good quality reception, but that is FAR from the truth. Today they had the gall to tell me I shoudn't expect reception in my house, that cell phones can only be expected to get good reception outdoors. Over the past year I have probably spoken with about 25 tech support employees, including supervisors with NO RESULTS. I can't wait for this contract to be up so I can go back to Verizon. I"m paying $120 per month for CRAP service when I paid the same at Verizon for excellent reception AND customer service. ATT is nothing but a boatload of CRAP excuses.

My old Nokia worked well on the old TDMA / GSM dual system. I renewed my contract and purchased a Motorola V551 (gsm only) it's a great phone, anywhere but here. I was told I needed a GSM phone because they were phasing out the TDMA, but there were some areas outside Paducah needing upgraded and I might find dead spots for a while. THEY DIDN'T MENTION THE DEAD SPOTS ARE JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE BEYOND DOWNTOWN PADUCAH. No one I have spoke to is happy with Cingulars reception right now. I hope they fix it soon.
