People have to try to call us multiple times when we are at home, but keep getting random different messages about invalid numbers / busy netwrok / call cannot be completed / etc. Constant call dropping. We used to get great service here, but it's been awful since last fall (over 6 months). Customer service has gone downhill too. I actually got a lecture about how we "obviously don't have service issues because we use a lot of minutes" from a customer service rep! In other words she implied we were lying to try toget credit. I explained to her that we don't use a land line and advised her to look and see how many time we called the same numbers back-to-back (i.e. calls dropped). I have also had terrivle time with my PPC6700 phone and they keep replacing it with banged-up refurbs, some of which don't even work when they arrive! We're switching. I was planning to go ATT, but I see many issues here. Anyone have anyscopp on Alltel?

I would get decent 2-3 bars when I am out side driving around but once I to my subdivision, it drops down to 1 bar and most of the time would just not able to find service at all. I would have to go outside to find signals. People would email me telling me that my calls would just go straight to voicemail. I call customer service and they would play games with me. Initially, they would talk to me and try to offer solutions (upgrades, that I would have to put out more $ for). Later times I would call and they tell me that their system has changed and I would have to be a registered authorized user on the account. WTF, it's my account, under my name. They would give me the run around until I get fed up and ask them to cancel my account but they would try to transfer me to a case # for reference to call back.

Verizon has done something lately and I heard from the store they are adding 53 sites in LA this year. Most is the outer areas of Baton Rouge. GO Verizon you guys are really getting better in the Rural areas. My camp in New Roads I finally have EVDO..

Bad Reception in Broadmore Area on Lonita St. Called AT&T and turns out it is an island of bad coverage in this area.

I rarely get signal over one bar. I did call customer service over a year ago about it (one call only), and nothing changed. I can make it on one bar, but sometimes I get dropped calls or I have to move outside my house to continue my conversation. This is the only area in town (South Baton Rouge) I have problems with. Every where else I have been to, I have had four to five bars.

Changing from Motorola to Nokia cell phone improved reception, but I am still very unhappy with Cingular service in this area. With Motorola, phone was unusable 100% of the time. With Nokia, phone is usable 20% of the time, if I walk to the hottest spot in the house quickly enough or dial from there. I wonder what the incentive will be for AT&T / Cingular to improve cell service to neighborhoods now that they own both cell and land line. Excellent cell service will result in loss of land line customers. I think we are all screwed.

The reception in my home is very poor. I have several dropped calls each week. I have stopped using T-Mobile and am in the process of switching companies.

It in nearly impossible to get decent signal as soon as I pull into my subdivision. I have to go out into the driveway and wander around, hoping to find a ray of signal. It's HORRIBLE!! Several other areas around the country where I visit family the signal is so non-existent there's no point in even having a cell phone.

Awesome signal in the parking lot by the Super Target! Had maximum amount of bars in Olive Garden and in IHOP, also in Super Target! There is a tower directly behind Super target, you can see it in the parking lot! I dont know if this is an AT&T tower, but i'm pretty sure it was, becuase I had awesome signal! If anyone has any information about the tower please tell me!

Reception is okay in our apartment. We signed up a little over two years ago. At that time, coverage was great and quality was a little better than average (but I suspect our phones were not helping). Since then, and especially since Katrina, call and connection quality has become POOR. 1 / 3 of dialed calls don't go out on the first attempt. Sometimes my phone, or my wife's phone, goes straight to voice mail even if we have reception at the time. 1 / 4 to 1 / 2 of all calls usually get disconnected (or I should say, go silent, and I have to hang up and re-dial... but I'm sure Cingular doesn't count that as a "dropped" call). I agree with others about frequently losing calls or dead time on Antioch between Old Jefferson and Tiger Bend. The only thing Cingular / AT&T has going for it is coverage area as a whole, but what used to be decent quality has gone to crap. Our contract is up, and we are considering Sprint, Verizon, and Alltel.
