Get great service with Alltel in this area. Most places I go to throughout town has at least one bar. I have only been to a few places with no service, and those places were inside buildings.

Cingular / AT&T considers this area to be below the "Secondary" market area. That means that this area will not improvements for at least 2 years after the Major cities get them. Although I have the newest 3-G phone, I won't see 3-G for a long time. As for the voice signal, with Cingular the signal can be good and the voice quaility still sucks. It doesn't drop the calls, they just degrade until there is silence. This has been a problem for years here, and I don't see it improving anytime soon. And if you want Data, well forget it. With my phone, I have to pay twice as much (39.99 because it's a PDA) but it sill won't connect most of the time.

Great signal! Compared to Sprint 3 years ago, Cingular has topped the signal. I agree that coverage is bad in some spots (Airline / Texas intersection and I-49 North / South), but overall pretty good. Perfect signal inside my home as well.

Don't bother trying to have a conversation around either of these locations. Service sucks. For the network with the fewest dropped calls, you need to get a clue. Did I mention that there are at least two Cingular stores in this area. Seems to me they would know there is a problem. All they tell me is that I shouldn' t be having any problems and it must be my phone. After 3rd V551 I switched back to my unlocked AT&T 3595. Imagine that still no service.

I wish Cingular would just come out and tell people we know there are call volume issues in this area, we apologize, we are working to fix these issues by the the middle or end of summer 2006, Cingular reception is fine, in terms of bars, its the call volume and the handing off of towers thats they problem, towers can't handle the volume of calls and therefore reject handoffs. Problem is with customers, is that their expectations are based on service that was provided before trying to merge all the Att&T customers and networks with Cingular networks, that puts a huge strain on a network especially when you make a call and the it goes to jackson miss, due to the switch shreveport is on. Thank god they are building a switch which should help with call volume. As to those of you who have problems, yes Cingular knows and yes, it doesn't matter what phone you get you will have some service issues. So please stop coming in the store and yelling at reps about issuses they can't control and try to be nice about the problem and atleast let a rep attempt to help you. I see so many customers get upset with bad attitudes that it makes the rep not want to help them. if you come in with a bad attitude I will say that you probably will leave even more pissed, because most reps will not assist you in the manner that you would like. And please assume that customer service will tell you anything to get you off the phone and send you to a store, were you will get a shock when the reps tell you something different, don't act surprised. Unfourtunately customer service can and will mislead or tell you different things due to inconsistent training, Customer complain about what reps on stores due, but its the reps for the most part who are constantly uptodate with information and not customer service, thats a sad but true fact. in closing, be fair, act like an adult, keep and open mind and you might find that people are willing to go out of there way to help you

Cingular has the worst signal I have ever had. I have had the same number for 12 years. Started with cellular one and through the mergers have ended up with cingular. Thats why I went and bought an Alltel phone it has great reception and is clear as a landline 99% of the time. I am done with Cingular as soon as my contract is up.

You can see 2 towers. One is Alltel and the other a private leased. Alltel is perfect reception and Cingular is non-existent. This area is right beside a gold course listed on the Audubon Trail and designed and lived at by Hal Sutton.

I recently switched from Alltel to Cingular. With Alltel I had very few reception problems and dropped calls. With Cingular, I have static and dropped calls very frequently. I am switching back to Alltel. I now have a LG1400. With Alltel I used a LG5450.

I get 3 to 5 bars but still lose calls and most calls are so fuzzy that I can't understand the other person. I did not have this problem with a Nokia 2100 with ATT Wireless GSM but now have major problems with switching to Cingular's GSM with Samsung E317. The migration to Cingular was terrible and I will not go with Cingular next time, unless something changes. I am very unhappy at this point.
