I live in a pretty rural area. I can reliably use this phone in he house or out. Sometimes need postitoning in the hous, but overal it's pretty good. Just got this Razr V3xx and it is a bit better in overall reception out here.

Cingular (GSM system) phones of any make have very poor signal quality throughout the area including the I-20 / Hwy. 80 corridor. The older TDMA system (being phased out and no longer available) actually works better. We have 8 Cingular GSM phones (Nokia and Motorola) all of which have the same problems. Working with Cingular tech. support did nothing to improve the dismal service but did result in three of our phones showing up as "Out of Area" on the called person's Caller ID even in the local area. We gave up on Cingular Tech Support before they caused any more damage.

We live just off Wafer Rd.and Just north of Hwy. 80 on Randy Lane. We have to stand at the back of the house to make and recieve calls. And even then our reception is sketchy. There are two towers across Hwy. 80 from the next neighborhood to the east of us. But those towers must not be Cingular towers. When I find out what carriers those towers service I'll be switching carriers! I have one more year to suffer with Cingular, UGH!
