I use Centennial... ..it's not on your list. Everybody that uses Cingular and other companies in our office building do not get good reception. Only those of us that use Centennial can get our phone calls and get good reception.

Throughout the entire city, Cingular always provides more than adequate coverage. When driving, you may hit a spot where you start breaking up a little, but generally the call doesn't even drop, the tower hands off to another one and the call quality is good again! In building coverage varies, some buildings it is fine, some impossible, some mediocre, but overall Cingular is definitely the choice service provider.

Cingular GSM service is full bars all over Lafayette, even inside most all buildings. Its hard to not get 5 bars. Beats the pants off most other carriers.

4-5 bars all the time. The only place I've dropped down to 2 or less is in the elevator in Jefferson Towers downtown. I've never dropped a call, either. Coverage is excellent outside of Lafayette as well.

Cingular GSM is excellent in the Lafayette area. I pretty much get full reception everywhere I go.

Have been with Sprint for many years, before moving too Lafayette area 6 years ago. Had AT$T when in central Louisiana, they sucked bad, reception lack of customer service and all... but did learn something a long long time ago about cell phones... if the provider offers you a free phone, you get you money's worth. Pay a little for a decent phone and you'll be lots happier... have great phone reception in and around our home but then we have the new Arwave in our home(look it up) and it is better than the phone that I had thru a certain cable provider here in town, who shall remain nameless...

Lafayette is one of the major cities T-Mobile is currently undergoing maintainance in, so coverage is spotty in a few places. Use T-Mobile for data ONLY. They may get you with their voice plans, but 60% of the time, you can't really place a call (or receive it for that matter) I switched over to Cingular for my voice cause their data is expensive (and because they don't support the Sidekick II yet) Service 99.9% of the time on my Samsung e317

E. Broussard / E'lan Subdivision, Lafayette, LA 70508 Wed Jan 09, 2008

Driving into the subdivision I get reception, I take a left, and get no reception and / or dropped calls, take a right down my street I get 5 bars, I drive up at my home and get no reception. I can only use my phone in my kitchen and living room, and sometimes in my courtyard. I constantly have people saying they can't hear me, but I can hear them perfectly, my partner has a Motorola cell and has better reception. I just recently sent an email about wasting my money on phones devices that give me crappy reception and the time it takes to look fora new one, and try it for a day only to realize that it is just as bad or worse than the previous phone. AT&T isn't cutting it in this subdivision at all. MICKY

Ever since hurricane Katrina Cingular reception has been below average. During high usage times (5:00 pm on weekdays) reception drops to poor
