I want to know what carrier to change to AT&T sucks here! There are 3 towers within half a mile! Can submit no access An I pay 45 dollars a month for dropped calls! I have to change! All it tells me is please try again! Was this review helpful to you?
Spotty reception, dead areas every 3 miles or so depending on terrain (low lying areas zero bars). Signal says 4G LTE, but when phone app for data is started up it goes to E service and you have nothing. Dropped calls from wherever you make them. In a 30 mile square radius of Ft Polk every carrier has some issue. ATTs service and pricing however make them a bad choice for this area because they are price gouging and not providing anything of value. Why pay 140$ a month for a data plan that doesn't work when you can just get a go phone that costs a fraction of that, and has same reception / data? Was this review helpful to you?
T-Mobile uses the Cellular One towers that are now owned by another company (too small a market for ATT to take the entire market with merger). Voice isn't bad but you are roaming most of the time here and my 3GB plan only gets me 50mb of roaming 3 / 2g data. That sucks! TMobile used to be great. My phone would switch between ATT and CellOne depending on which tower had better service but not any more. Oh and when you go to Alexandria it switches to ATT but my phone has to be tricked into switching. Very complicated and very stupid process. Was this review helpful to you?
Verizon now has a tower in the Leesville area. I just came back to Ft Polk from Afghan, to find I have full bars of 4G LTE. I no longer have to switch my phone carrier. This was a smart move by Verizon. Not only will they maintain customers moving here, they will pick up many new customers. Before this tower every person I knew that moved here with Verizon had to switch to another carrier because they did not get a signle. Not anymore. Plus it it is super fast because no one is on the Network yet.Was this review helpful to you?
Verizon now works inside the Fort Polk area. Seems they put a tower up or something near the JRTC area. Was this review helpful to you?
Worst ever experienced with Verizon. Extended coverage wit two bars on a good day. This is horrible. Was this review helpful to you?
Supposedly Verizon has begun building towers to expand network for Leesville, and Fort Polk. Rumors but Verizon is going to get a kiosk in the PX, so there may be some hope for legitimate choice here. Was this review helpful to you?
Virgin Mobile (Sprint) has nice coverage. Can use 3g hotspot on Ft.Hood.Also has 4g coverage in downtown Leesville, but not true 4g? Coverage seems spotty on 28 to Alex with no service most of the way. 171 to Lake Charles is spotty. No coverage from Leesville to Lake Livingston, TX on Hwy. 8 / 63. At&T is your best bet, but get ready to spend some money, unless you choose the pre paid plan. Was this review helpful to you?
I do get reception while in Leesville / Fort Polk. However it is off of the "cellular one" tower. I am unable to use my data on my phone and do not get 3g or 4g coverage. I am also unable to check my voice messages because there is no tower. Was this review helpful to you?
There is No 3G for anyone out here and there is less coverage with Verizon. If I'm outside and not moving I can get 1 bar, but once I enter any build I have no signal at all. I was ensured that there was coverage, but it wasn’t Verizon that it was enhanced coverage. which means Verizon is leasing signal from someone else. AT&T is your best option since the surrounding area is littered with Cingular towers. Was this review helpful to you?
