I live in mandeville and work in covington. I have perfect reception almost all of the time. Every once in a while my friend calls me off of sharpe road and it drops but he says theres a dead spot there. Been with Cingular / AT&T since I have started using a cellphone 3 years ago, good all the time.

I have Cinular. Used to be with Sprint. I live in Mandeville and work in Metairie. If you want a ph company that works best in the Greater NO's area its Cingula / ATT. One complaint is customer service.

Have had T-Mobile now for 3 years in the Mandeville area and am happy. I've always had coverage at my house, but other areas my phone used to lose signal. The coverage has improved a lot lately and I now have coverage around Mandeville Middle school, Target shopping center, Covington high school, Barkers Corner, Abita Springs, etc.

AT&T has a consistent problem and that is signal penetration. The minute you walk inside, service drops to 1 bar. A cell company can have a great footprint, but with a weak penetration signal. If you live in the Mandeville area, be aware that you will run into problems. Once you sign that contract, that's it, they gotcha for 1 or 2 years. I strongly believe AT&T has grown in company size so big that it has lost the personable service, which we see with most large companies today. I finally was able to cancel my service contract with them, but have to pay 1 / 2 the cancellation fee. This is terrible service once again; if my service is poor due to your performance than I should not have to pay a cancellation fee.

I get NO reception. Zero. Nothing. No bars. T-Mobile says there is a "strong signal" in our area, but there is NO signal. If I manage to even receive a call, it's dropped immediately. I have no signal in my house, around my house or in my neighborhood. T-Mobile will not waive my contract fee, either. Very unhappy that I switched from Alltell. You get what you pay for.
