There is great reception across most of the city. Once they merge the AT&T towers in it should be perfect all across Ruston!

Alltel just did some upgrading in town I think. They must have new towers because I am getting 4-5 bars of coverage all over the new growth part of town (I-20 - Exit 85-86) (Walmart, Wendy's, Chili's, etc..) However, phone calls seem to go to voice mail way too often without ringing and coverage needs to be expanded where the rich folks live (Stowe Creek, Creek's Edge). Also, why all of the Analog signals when in a Digital area??? Been a customer for 10 years + and about to switch to Cingular.

I get good reception almost everywhere I go in Ruston. Even in the woods. I almost always have 5 bars. If you are thinking of moving in this area, you should choose Cingular for you wireless service. They're great.

I've literally had every available carrier in Ruston because the service at my apt was so bad. Nextel seems to work the best there. I usually get 3-4 bars of service in my apartment, all around town, and in buildings. Every other carrier I tried in Ruston had too many coverage holes, or got little to no indoor signal. If you having coverage issues, i'd give Nextel (or a Boost Mobile iDEN series phone) a try.

Even with four bars of reception my phone mysteriously goes to analog a lot of times. I also get calls that I never know about until I recieve a voice message. I've had people tell me they call me 3-4 times before it even rings for me. I'm not the only person that has this problem with Alltel and they have different model phones than I do. I usually don't get any reception at all if I go inside some of the buildings on campus.

The reception here for AT&T GSM is very good. I either get full reception or 80% reception most of the time.

Signal is ok... .It would be better if Verizon would put up a digital tower of their own instead of making us bounce off of Alltel and Sprint for reception

Due to budget restrains I had to keep Tmobile. I am a repeat from Garden St. in La using Blackberry 8100 I allowed myself to be talked into trying the G1. The service is still bad most times only one bar and u lose count of the the drop calls. The phone does not work in any of the small towns. If you keep T-Mobile you will need a pay as you go phone. Tmoble finally did admit their service was bad for all the money I had spent on phones and being a loyal customer since 2004. T-Mobile said they would release me from my remaining contract and I could sell my T-Mobile G1 phone and etc on Ebay! The message is customers are not important once you sign the contract.
