Verizon's network quality in the Shreveport area depends on the network technology your phone is set to pick up. I've had several Verizon phones over the last two years, and their 3G network is exellent--I get good coverage all over the entire area, whether outdoors or in buildings. Verizon's 4G LTE coverage in this area is a big disappointment to me. In heavily trafficked areas (Youree Drive, Airline Drive, etc.) I get adequate 4G service. Once I step into a building or enter a residential area, my phone drops to 3G. I currently own an LG Revolution and also had a Samsung Droid Charge, two 4G phones. Both have the same issues with 4G. I can't give Verizon's service any higher than a 4 / 5 in this area due to the spotty 4G coverage. Thankfully, Verizon gives you the option to switch 4G on or off, so I typically rely on their stellar 3G service. Verizon is by far the best carrier in the area, just don't expect much from their 4G network.

I love Verizon! The service is great and works in more ares then my old AT&T and Sprint phones would. I will never leave Verizon. I haven't had it long and I am already amazed how good the service is. I get 3G in the most rural places you would think wouldn't have service.

Was with Sprint and had the Palm Pre, but had no 3G as someone said. Switch to Verizon because they now offer the Palm Pre Plus. I like the Pre Plus more then my Sprint Pre. I love that it has more RAM, more memory, and the mobile hot spot! It's much much faster, and my data is fast!

The place I work for just switched from AT&T to Verizon. The service is much better then AT&T. I'm about to switch my Personal lines (5) to Verizon from AT&T.

We had AT&T until yesterday. The other day when the tornados came thru, I could NOT use my phone. Call failed is all I got. I switched my 3 lines to Verizon and the service is great. It sounds much better then AT&T did too.

I recently moved here from Dallas and had AT&T and my wife had Sprint. My wife hated her phone after we moved because because she could not pick up on 3G unless we were roaming off Alltel (now Verizon). My AT&T phone was dropping my calls all the time and my 3G was horrible. We switch to Verizon Wireless this past weekend because of the Buy one blackBerry get one free. I go the Tour and she got the Pearl Flip. We both love our service and our 3G is fast. Friends and Family is a plus too.

Switch my 5 lines to Verizon Wireless and couldn't be happier. AT&T became worse and worse by the month it seemed.

before I get mad at a friend for just outright blowing me off for no reason, I will ask if you have problems with voice messaging north la services. i've called half a dozen times and in 2 weeks get no call back when my friend is always reliable calling back. friend is ok. tonight I get message that 'this subscriber cannot accept messages at this time' so have to leave call back number. before then I will get voice mail leave message and he never calls back. besides bad reception are you having any of these problems with people not even knowing you called or not being advised of messages? is that maybe what the 'cannot accept messages' means or is it a block on the number? ps I dont know what phone friend uses. but I know 2 months ago he had problems with phone but not what sort. he had to call number to get messages but then his phone was in for repair or something. any comments please? thank you

Have had phone for almost two months. Exchanged it twice before I got one with no problems. Reception in general has been very good. Soft hand-off does not work properly in some areas on I-20 traveling east or west. The signal sometimes drops completely before hand-off to a full 5 bar signal a couple of seconds later. My conversations are with clients and are very important. I used TDMA for the last 5 years and had less drop outs, but was told by several friends that Cingular / ATT GSM is worse than Verizon. There are really no other choices I would consider for this area regardless of price. If you are considering these companies take advantage of their trial periods and put them thru the paces before making your decision. By the way the phone you pick is just as important as the wireless service you choose. Good Luck!
