Since the Cingular fixed the towers last month and me throwing my stupid POS razr in the trash, my service has gotten excellent. All of you winers just throw ur pretty little razr in the trash(or any other Motorola phone) and get a real phone, dont blame Cingular because your phone is junk. I fell for the "razr hipe" but realized it was junk like every other razer owner. I got a 2125 smartphone and love it, awesome signal and features. My wife trashed here rokr and got a decent Nokia and now has excellent service also. They need to put the dam razr in a go phone box, LOL!

Terrible reception in Shreveport and at home, but good in central TX. What are they doing wrong over here?

I am a former AT&T customer that was at the end of a contract, got the Cingular service. Where do I start? We leave the cell phones at home (no kidding!) We don't get decent service anywhere, In fact I think service would not be appropriately defining what I get from cingular. I had AT&T never ever dropped a call, God help me, I was not even certain what a dropped call was. I do not use the cell phone I have now without the call dropping, I can't hear the person (warbled), or something else. Lately I get a message when I dial my husband that his phone number is not a working number. My 16y / o I have about a 50 / 50 chance of getting the call to go through. What did they do? Sabatoge the AT&T towers that were up? How did they screw up at phone system that was working? My favorite is when I get through to customer service and they tell me I have great service! (I'm quoting them!)It's not just my family but everyone in the area I know with cingular.

It's almost impossible to have a clear phone conversation in the Broadmoor neighborhood. Sometimes I can roam around the yard and get a little better signal. Most calls are garbled and occassionally lost.

On one of the busiest roads in Shreveport and Bossier, the coverage disappears for about a mile. It's so consistent that I tell people that I'll be unable to talk until I go over the bridge. The traffic counts in this area are over 25,000 per day and Cingular hasn't recognized the business value of delivering a usable, much less outstanding product in this area.

Within 100 yards of a major hospital and close to geographic center of Shreveport. Had calls dropped and then no service "SOS only". Has happened for about 2 months now. Makes their "Raising the bar" campaign pretty much all spin and no substance.

Here is the reason why so many people experience dropped calls. Calls are dropped upon handoff between cells within the same provider's network. This may be due to an imbalance of traffic between the two cell towers' zones. If the new tower is at capacity, it cannot accept the additional traffic of the new call. If the phone cannot find an alternative cell to move to that can take over the call, the call is lost. If you are with Cingular, I was told that the network in Louisiana will be fully integrated by June of 2006. If you experience network issues; either get over it or by a Nokia phone and quit complaining. The cellular network that you use is only as good as the equipment that you use. Bag phones used to cost $1,000 plus, but for some reason people think that they wil get great service with a free phone. Guess what? You get what you pay for.

Well I posted here back in May of 2005 and nothing has gotten better. I have gone through three warranty exchanges finally resulting in a different model phone, yet with no resolve. Whether I cannot get a signal at all or have full bars, I still miss or drop calls repeatedly. After endless hours on the phone with support, warranty exchange and other assorted Cingular clowns I have gone from being told I was in a great coverage area to I was in a minimal coverage area; from I have one of the best phones on the market to my phone is crap and I should shell out another $300 for a new phone. I challenge each and every one of you having issues to call Cingular support and find out where the tower is located you are pulling from. Both phones on my account pull from a tower in Richland, MS... over 200 miles away from here! I recently received a text message from Cingular tech support stating the following... "Dropped call issue is affecting several customers in area. Being resolved by several departments. Thanks Dan / tech Cingular" Now I know personally I have spent close to 20 hours on the phone with Cingular just since April. I am on the verge of cancelling my contract with Cingular. You see, a little known, or realized, fact is that contracts with cell phone companies work both ways. The customer signed a contract commiting to pay a monthly fee for a provided service, while Cingular signs a contract agreeing to provide a service for a monthly fee. When I don't pay my bill, what happens? Cingluar cuts me off and I pay an astronomical amount of mney to get service restored, my credit is affected, etc. What happens when Cingular fails to provide service? They are in breach of contract and should be held in contempt. I challenge everyone reading this that has Cingular to not roll over and let them get the best of you. It is a frustrating road, but if enough speak out, issues will be resolved or Cingular will find their way out of the area. If you are looking for a cell provider, I can say personally Cingular should be dead last on your list.
