my Verizon reception is pretty good around town. I can't get much when at chicot park. I have zero service around mamou. one thing I noticed about Verizon is that calls don't drop. one bar is as good as 5. my 3g speeds are very good regardless of how many bars I have too. my phone, I have recently discovered, is not known for having the best reception so my reception rating may be lower than others. my wife has the driodx and always has a couple more bars than me. a friend in town with Verizon has a blackberry and has good reception even at chicot park. customer service at Verizon is top notch. after I took a customer survey, they called me to see if they could help out! when the centennial towers switch at the end of july Verizon customers should be getting 3 to 5 bars all over the parish.

Can't get ANY service outside of ville Plate when in Bayou Chicot even when roaming. and then it uses all my battery power, so I turn it off. What a waste of cell phone for a whole weekend. All calls go to voice mail and when I get "into town" my voicemail rings at me.

We live on the last street south of ville platte and we never get more than 2-3 ticks on our receiption. Yesterday, outside, my phone dropped the call twice. There is one tower north of ville platte on Lincoln st. and the receiption is excellent from the center of town towards the north. we need a tower on the south side of ville platte.
