I have lived in brighton, brookline and allston with no problems in any of my apartments. I do have low reception in BU buildings that are made out of concrete (my friends' Verizon phones work though) and along the D line I never get reception between beaconsfield and newton center.

When ever anyone calls me my service bars vanish as does the person on the other line. Some much for "least dropped calls" It happens to me daily. I also had service problems in other areas of Allston and Jamaica Plain

I've noticed that sometime I get zero reception in Downtown Crossing, or Kenmore Square. Also, on Tuesday from 7pm - 11pm people who called me received an "all circuits busy" message, weren't able to leave me voicemail and this caused all sorts of problems. I think Cingular has too many customers and not enough equipment around to carry everyone at once in this area... but when you get a line it is almost always prefectly clear.

Absolutely terrible reception. Call sometimes goes through indoors, but call drops when the other person answers. Sound quality is terrible (when I do get through). Even on my balcony facing open air and no obstacles, only a couple bars and calls still dropped. Signal strength goes up and down like a yo-yo, from 3 (at most) to 0 bars. I am sick and tired of having to explain my crappy reception to the person I'm trying to have a normal phone conversation with, and I recommend everyone stay far, far away from AT&T (now Cingualar).

Repeatedly missed calls; They went direct to voice mail while I held the phone. Any that got though had extremely poor quality. AT&T sucks in general. Voice message alerts would appear up to 14 hours later. A clerk in the AT&T wireless store told me that they are switching the TDMA equipment with the newer GSM thereby reducing the TDMA coverage. AT&T sucks.

I had Samsang A460 before, 1 bar outside, nothing indoors: full bar inside out with my Sanyo 8100, then I switched to the Sanyo 5500. no compalins. My friend's Sanyo 8200 is not as good as my old Sanyos here in my apartment.

Sprint gets awful service here. I get one to two bars outside. No service indoors: I have to sit next to two windows and get 1 bar. But if I breathe wrong the call is dropped. Outside of here I get good service in the Boston area. But stay away if you live near me.
