There is virtually no reception in Barre, MA. You have to drive 7 miles out of town to Rutland to receive and make calls.

Cingular has two towers in Barre but yet nearly half the town is still a deadzone. The reason is because, the tower on Hubbardston road is a "low voltage" tower. Therefore, in order to get reception from this tower you need to be at least a half a mile away from this tower! This is rediculous that Cingular comes into these towns and puts towers up that don't do anything to increase coverage! Recently Cingular tried to add another low voltage tower but I don't think the town approved it because of that fact that it maks to sence to put up a 150 foot tower to service a half mile radius! It's rediculous! Had the tower on Hubbardston road not been a low voltage the whole town would probably have coverage!

Barre Mass only has a Cingular / Verizon tower which only covers half of town. The other half is a total dead zone. For those coming in town with other providers such as T-Mobile, Sprint, and Nextel, placing a call in Barre is impossible.
