I work as a real estate agent in allston. I live on nottinghill rd in brighton, inside the comm ave-colborne-wallingford triangle, I also conduct alot of business in back bay, downtown, jamaica plain, newton, brookline and watertown. always have reception everywhere. but I gotta get an iphone, so ill give AT&T a try, ppl claim their service in brighton is fine, so we'll see, but Sprint works great, this coming from a guy who hits all the streets in the area, talking on the phone. highly recommended.

Reception has been very good to perfect with Verizon, but their service if you lose your phone is hideously bad. It will take them up to 5 business days to replace your phone, and that's IF you have the replacement insurance. First they will outsource your call to India (with a bungling compnay called "Insurion") or someplace with a marginal English speaker who, if true to my experience, will botch and delay your replacement order. When you call back to find out where your phone is, they'll make more excuses and still won't be able to say when you'll get your phone replacement. They're supposed to replace it within one day good luck! You'll be lucky to get it at all. So if you can go without your cell phone for 5 days (I can't), go ahead and get Verizon. As for me, I'm switching to another company, ANYBODY but Verizon.

I moved to the area in the beginning of October, and had no reception at all. Then, two weeks ago, suddenly the reception is perfect!

Sprint works for me. I live right around Boston College (near the T-Stop) at Greycliff Street across from the Seminary.

I had Sprint for years. The were awful in Brighton. The phone (LG I forget the model) got between 1-0 bars. I lost most calls within 5 minutes. I got a Motorola Razr with Cingular service last week. I get between 3-5 bars and havent lost a call yet. If you are having reception problems I suggest going into a Cingular store. You give them your address and they show how many bars that paticular area should get - very helpful.

I switched recently from SprintPCS (2G service) to T-Mobile (GPRS) and I've found it to be a night and day difference. I had zero service with SprintPCS, I have perfect reception with T-Mobile, and the data service is very reliable. A+ also goes to T-Mobile customer service, maybe the nicest customer service professionals I've ever spoken to in any industry.

I've had Cingular / AT&T for several years. I've never had any reception problems, in my home or elsewhere, until I moved to this part of Brighton (Cleveland Circle / BC area). I often get static, dropped calls and no bars in and around my apartment- not all the time, but enough that I'm considering switching.

I just moved to Brighton MA, and my cell phone signal is terrible. My signal says S.O.S. in the whole apartment. I get one bar when I am on the front porch. I am so frustrated!
