Little to no reception in Great Barrington outside of the main part of downtown Great Barrington. One would think that there would be strong cell phone signals all along Route 7, a major thoroughfare for North - South traffice through the Berkshires, from Sheffield to Pittsfield, and well used connecting roads East - West such as Monument Valley Road.

Stronger signals in last year. I find coverage spotty west of town. North and south into Stockbridge, Lenox and Sheffield is good and improved over last year. Unfortunately at home in Monterey, I use my phone as a paper weight. Hoping to find a signal boosting antenna.

In most places on campus, I can't get any service whatsoever, but there is a certain place outside the art center where I can get enough service to send out a call and sometimes I can get enough service when I stand on top of the desk by the window in my dorm that I can talk to someone for a few minutes before the call is dropped.

As of the date of your most recent posting for Verizon in Great Barrington, MA, a new cell tower on top of the local hospital provided excellent reception in the main part of town (finally!), though it quickly faded in the outskirts. Other new towers are scheduled to become operative during the winter. You should solicit other postings for this area.

Verizon reception is essentially nonexistent in Great Barrington. I have gotten a one-bar signal occasionally -- for example, on the second-floor balcony on the back side of the Days Inn.

Reception fades a blaock from Main St.into Railroad St.with a good assortment of bars and restaurants. Main St.is US 7 -- reception there incoming along State 57 and 23 is non existent past Granville. Signal picks up almost in sight of a cell-phone tower at the Stockbridge line - US-7 North -full power immediately just past the town line. Entire SW corner of Massachusetts at Great Barrington needs a relay tower. T-Mobile uses a package of T Mobile-Cingular and ATT wireless to connect. Route 23 after entering Egremont at before NY line restores the signal. Mountains mainly. Poor reception includes Butternut Ski area.

I either have no service or roaming with analog and one bar. I can't wait for a new VZ tower in Great Barrington! I feel like I am wasting my money since I can hardly ever get reception!
